⭐️ TEST PASS ⭐️

Massive congratulations to Sophie on passing her driving test this morning at Livingston Test Centre! 🚗

Sophie was more than ready for her test, so I managed to arrange a test swap with another student who just needed a few extra weeks to build their confidence and polish up a few areas.

It worked out perfectly, meaning Sophie didn’t have to wait any longer than necessary, and the other student gets the extra time they need without a test going to waste or a 6 month wait!

A fantastic result all round, but most importantly, a huge congratulations to Sophie on a very well deserved pass! Wishing you many years of safe and happy driving. 🚗💨

⭐️TEST PASS ⭐️

Massive congratulations to Matthew on passing his driving test at Livingston! 🚗🎉

Matthew was super lucky to get a last-minute cancellation last Thursday and was more than ready to sit his test.

Matthew actually came to me through a recommendation from another instructor, who knew I had experience teaching deaf learners. I’m really grateful for that recommendation, and it was a pleasure helping Matthew achieve such a well-deserved pass.

I’ll await all your messages about Netflix documentaries and traitors chat!!

Well done, Matthew! Drive safe and enjoy your new freedom!

This is one of Whitburn’s most misunderstood roundabouts! 🚗

At the Heartlands/Polkemmet roundabout, both approach lanes are marked for straight ahead, but they take you to different lanes on the exit.

➡️ Left lane (outside lane): Continue into the left-hand lane, which becomes the left-turn-only lane into the Heartlands housing estate.

➡️ Right lane: Continue into the right-hand lane, which is the correct lane if you’re carrying on towards Harthill and Polkemmet Country Park.

Emily’s managed to grab a last minute cancellation (yes they do exist in Livingston 😂), and went on her own car accommodated with her super positive mum!

One of the biggest things I see learners (and qualified drivers!) getting caught out by… waiting for a green filter arrow that isn’t needed. 🚗

If you’ve got a normal green light, you can make the turn as long as it’s safe, giving way to any oncoming traffic and pedestrians where required. The green arrow is simply a protected turn – it means you can go without conflicting traffic.

Knowing the difference keeps traffic flowing and could even save you from picking up a driving test fault.

Every learner builds their driving test up to be much worse than it actually is. Gav has just come back from his test, and this is the advice he wishes he’d known beforehand.

Remember, the examiner isn’t expecting perfection—they’re looking for a safe, confident driver.
