We're very proud to share news of our recent full Ofsted inspection feedback. 🙌

Inspectors said "Pupils thrive at West Kirby School and College, and that "in all areas of the school pupils receive a transformational education."

Mr Richard Hicks, Headteacher, comments "Inspectors judged our school as strong across five areas, and 'strong' is exactly the right word. It reflects not only the standard inspectors found, but the strength of relationships, the strength of support, and the strength of belief we hold in every one of our pupils. This is a proud moment for our whole school community, and is a credit to every member of staff who goes above and beyond for our young people, every single day."

When sharing how it feels to be a pupil at our school, inspectors said "Pupils feel safe, valued and included, and how "every member of staff lives out the school's motto 'Changing Children's Lives'."

Parent Governor, Clare Boulton shared “As both a parent and governor, I am incredibly proud of this result. The report reflects the dedication, care and hard work of staff across the school and college who create an environment where every young person is supported to achieve their full potential. It’s wonderful to see their commitment recognised by OFSTED.”

After a whole year of hard work, lots of eco activities and plenty of green initiatives, we’re delighted to share that WKS has achieved the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award with Distinction! 🏆

A huge well done to our Eco Committee and Eco Ambassador for all their enthusiasm, ideas and commitment throughout the year. 🌱

We’re incredibly proud to have the Green Flag flying at WKS. It represents so much more than an award, it shows that we care about our environment, our planet and our relationship with nature. 🌍

From learning about sustainability to taking action in our school and community, our pupils are helping to make a difference.

The School Bakery doors are open again for the autumn season! 🍂🍁 Come and meet the new team! We have new seasonal specials for you - sticky toffee cake, spicy iced buns and toasties, and a range of our bread is fresh from the oven! All freshly made on-site. Open Mon-Thurs 10-12. See you soon! 🙌

Congratulations message from Mr Hicks, Headteacher…

“We are bursting with pride as we celebrate the outstanding achievements of our young people in their GCSEs, BTECs (Level 1 and Level 2) and Functional Skills qualifications.

Every single result represents a personal journey. Behind each grade achieved is determination, courage and real growth. We could not be more delighted for each of them. This is their moment, and they have earned every bit of it. Well done!

Thanks go to our staff for their dedication and belief in every young person. I am sure they are immensely proud of what our young people have achieved.

And to our parents and carers, thank you for support at home, your trust in us, and your own hard work alongside your children has made all the difference.

We are delighted that we will be welcoming the majority of our students back to join us in Sixth Form this September, and we cannot wait to continue their journey with them. For those moving on to college placements, we wish you every success and happiness as you take this exciting next step. Wherever you are headed, you will always be part of our school family.

A HUGE thank you for ALL your support for our charity whole school sponsored walk - each and every one of you, no matter how small. We're delighted to have raised £420 for Wirral Fox Rescue one of our pupils' nominated charities for the year. 🙌🫶👏 It was a memorable day and a highlight of our school calendar...

What a fantastic day for our walk. All the pupils have pushed themselves to complete walks of up to 20km. They have all explored the Dee estuary coast line and returned to school safe and well. Well done to the Mrs Dooley and all the staff that have provided transport, lunches and walked with the pupils.
