🍎 Tasting Stories: Bringing Books to Life! 📚
As part of Year 4’s reading of The Boy at the Back of the Class, the children took part in a special tasting activity on Thursday.
In the story, the pomegranate is a powerful symbol of kindness, generosity, and a connection to home for Ahmet, a young refugee. To help deepen understanding and make the story more meaningful, children had the opportunity to taste pomegranate during the school day.
A wonderful way to explore storytelling through the senses and build empathy through shared experiences. ❤️

The Reception children had a most wonderful visit to Caldy Manor Residential Home this week.💛
From the moment they arrived, the children were eager to chat with residents, sharing stories and building genuine connections. It was a heartwarming afternoon filled with creativity and kindness. Together, they made dough models, coloured St George’s Day pictures, and enjoyed laughter-filled balloon games 🎈
The visit ended with a lovely sing-along, bringing smiles to everyone in the room 🎶
A truly special experience that nurtured confidence, empathy, and a strong sense of community. They are already looking forward to our next visit!

During their outdoor learning session, the Reception children thoroughly enjoyed taking their own photographs of the growth and seasonal changes happening around our school grounds. Their excitement and curiosity really shone through as they explored, observed, and captured the natural world from their own perspectives. Well done to all the children!

A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who were able to join us today for our British Science Week exhibition. It was wonderful to share the culmination of the children’s hard work and creativity with you!
From our Reception classes right through to Year 6, the children showcased their curiosity, enthusiasm, and brilliant scientific thinking. We hope everyone who attended enjoyed seeing the fantastic results of their efforts as much as we did.

A brilliant day for the Year 6 members of our Friday Football Club, who took part in a tournament at Liverpool FC’s AXA Training Ground in Kirkby against other school teams!
The team showed fantastic effort, teamwork, and determination across all three matches:
🏆 Won one
🤝 Drew one
⚽ Lost one (but gave it everything!)
There were some great goals, strong defending, and a few creative celebrations along the way 😄 — a great experience for everyone involved.
We’re really proud of how our Year 6 players represented — top attitude and excellent sportsmanship throughout! 👏

📚 A Magical Morning at the Library 🌞
The Reception children enjoyed a sunny stroll to the local library this week, where they took part in a special story time linked to the topic of Traditional Tales. ✨
The children listened beautifully and joined in with the key parts of The Three Billy Goats Gruff, using their own puppets and props to bring the story to life 🐐🎭.
Afterwards, they got creative making their very own billy goats before choosing and sharing books with their friends and teachers — a lovely way to end their visit and celebrate a love of reading 📖💛

The Year 3 children got creative making beautiful flower bouquets for someone very special this Mother’s Day. Using coffee filter paper and ink pens, they designed colourful petals and then sprayed them with water to watch the colours blend and spread. Each flower became a unique burst of colour, turned into thoughtful bouquets made with lots of love. 🌷💖
Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mums and mother figures in our community!
