Jane Thomas’s debut follows her father through Alzheimer’s. It is a book about love, care and loss. Helen Mort describes it as:
“a collection we urgently need, examining the politics of care with nuance and generosity.”
The poems have been widely published in The Poetry Review, The Rialto, and Stand, among others, and the title poem was nominated by the Poetry Society for the Forward Prize in 2024.
Jane was awarded a DYCP from Arts Council England, and her related work with unpaid female carers received a ‘Literature Matters’ award from the Royal Society of Literature in 2025. She has also been highly commended in competitions including The Rialto, Poetry Wales, and the Bridport Prize.
