Our Year 5 students are mastering **long multiplication** this week! ✏️

There are several different methods for tackling long multiplication, and we're helping our students find the one that works best for them.

It's an essential skill for the **Wirral 11+ Quest exam**, where being able to work accurately and confidently is just as important as knowing how to get the answer.

Practice makes perfect! 💪

🧩 Non-Verbal Reasoning – Analogies!

Our students have already covered several Non-Verbal Reasoning topics this term, including Analogies, which we've been working on recently.

A few parents from other tutors have asked where they can find our teaching videos to help their children practise at home.

They're all available on Study Time Online, completely free for all our members! 😁

We have a whole library of teaching videos, along with practice questions, so children can revisit anything we've covered in class, work at their own pace and build their confidence.

Topic of the Week: Analogies 🧠

This week we’re looking at analogies, one of the NVR question types we’re learning at Study Time.

The challenge is to work out how the first pair of shapes are connected, then apply the same rule to the next pair.

📚 Supporting Local Tutors & Young People

At Study Time Tutors, we’re really pleased to be supporting talented local tutors and young people who are providing GCSE Maths, English and Science tuition in our community.

We give them access to our teaching locations and help connect them with local families who are looking for extra GCSE support.

There is no charge to the tutor or the family for this service. We simply want to help good local tutors build their experience and reach students who could benefit from their support.

We’re also very selective about who we recommend. The tutors we put families in touch with are people who currently work, or have previously worked, with Study Time, so they’re tutors we already know, trust and are confident recommending.

If you’re a parent looking for GCSE Maths, English or Science tuition, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to connect you with one of the tutors we’re supporting.

Good luck to everyone taking the 11+.

You’ve done all the work now, so don’t suddenly start trying to reinvent the wheel on test day.

Read the question properly.
Use your working out.
Don’t leave blanks.
Use the process of elimination
And if one question looks horrible, move on and come back to it.

If the test feels hard— it’s hard for everyone. The harder the test, the lower the pass mark.

Just focus on your paper and keep going.

You do not need to get everything right.
You just need to do your best on the day.

You’re ready. We are proud of you and you rule!!!!

Go and smash it.

With Quest containing Nets and Cubes, a lot of people have questions about it. We teach them as part of our classes and also have a full library of videos and practice questions on our online service which is free to all our students.
