I am delighted to share another outstanding set of GCSE results for Cranmore pupils. Building on the success of our inaugural GCSE cohort last year, this year's results represent a further significant step forward and reflect the continued dedication of our pupils, staff and families. I am particularly pleased that a third of all grades were awarded 9-8 (the old A*) and more than half of all grades were achieved at Grades 9-7 (the old A*/A), demonstrating further growth in the proportion of the very highest grades attained by our pupils.

Additionally, 77% of all grades were awarded at Grades 9-6 (the old A*-B), an increase on last year's highly impressive achievements. All of these measures are more than twice the national average. These results are a testament not only to academic ability, but also to the determination and commitment shown by our Year 11 pupils throughout their studies. There were also some outstanding individual performances, with our highest achieving pupil gaining 10 Grade 9s and a Distinction in Extended Maths. We are also delighted that all of our early-take Year 10 linguists gained the top Grade 9 in French or Spanish.

Effingham Sixth Form is celebrating its best-ever value-added performance following this year’s A-Level results, with students achieving exceptional outcomes across a wide range of subjects and future pathways.

Our results place Effingham Sixth Form in the top 10% nationally for adding value from GCSE results to A-Level results, reflecting the commitment, determination and hard work of our students, alongside the dedication of our staff.

This year's destinations reflect the remarkable breadth of opportunities our students have embraced. Alongside a place at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, to read Psychological and Behavioural Sciences, students are progressing to the Universities of Liverpool and Buckingham to study Medicine, while others are heading to Bath and Nottingham to pursue Mechanical and Automotive Engineering and Kings and UCL to study Politics and International Affairs as well as Business.

Criminology, Sociology, Psychology and Biomedical Sciences continue to be popular choices, with students progressing to a wide range of universities, including Exeter, Southampton and Surrey.

Our creative and performing arts students have also enjoyed outstanding success, with students securing places at the Universities of Leeds and Leicester to study Theatre and Dance, alongside exceptional achievements in Art, Photography and Textiles, with a place secured at the prestigious Central St Martin's, showcasing the strength and diversity of our creative disciplines.

Our students' ambitions extend well beyond the UK, with places secured at McGill University, Canada, to study Computer Science and at the University of Sydney to study Humanities, reflecting the global outlook and aspirations of our Sixth Form community.

One of the most rewarding parts of life at Cranmore is seeing pupils discover new interests and develop their strengths.

Whether on the sports field, on stage, through music or in CCF, pupils are encouraged to get involved, try new things and challenge themselves.

These opportunities help pupils build confidence, develop new skills and grow as individuals, both inside and outside the classroom.

We are delighted to invite Year 10 pupils and their parents to our co-educational Effingham Sixth Form Open Evening.

Taking place from 6:00–7:30 pm, the evening will begin with a talk from Mr Clouston, our Director of Sixth Form, followed by student-led tours of our amazing campus, subject masterclasses, and student panels. It will be a fantastic opportunity to discover what makes Effingham Sixth Form such a special place to continue your education.
