One week to go!

Really looking forward to seeing everyone back in classes next Saturday on the 18th of September. Remember to book your classes using our new booking system. You can see our Autumn schedule and book all the classes now at:

See you all soon

Dear parents and students

Firstly, apologies for the slight delay in getting this to you - it's taken a little while to set the system up, but hopefully now it's all up and running, it will make all our lives a little easier! Fingers crossed!

As previously advised, we are moving to an exciting new way to take bookings and payments. We’ve partnered with ClassForKids to provide you with an easy to use, modern and secure online booking system. This new booking system will allow us to focus on making our classes the best they can be, rather than the surrounding admin.

Using this new system, you only need to insert your details once and they'll be stored for all future bookings. You can book anywhere, anytime, on any device, when it's convenient for you.

The new system allows you to pay for classes in 2 ways:
1) Termly as we have done before, or
2) Monthly by setting up a subscription which allows you to pay for your classes over 12 months of the year with fees being taken on the 1st of each month

Then, to get started and book your classes, please follow this link:

Once you find your class, select "info and booking" and follow the steps to create a ClassForKids account (if you don't already have one). You'll automatically be taken straight through to complete your booking and pay or set up your subscription.

You can log into your Account at any time to view your bookings, pay and edit your personal details:"

I'm sure this will be a lot easier going forward, and please do ask if you are unsure about anything. Multiple classes attract a discount, so please email us at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Many thanks and thank you for your patience so far.

Here's to a successful year and please bear with us if there are any teething problems...

Hello everyone.
September is nearly upon us (where did the summer go?) and we are looking forward to getting back to classes again. We will be starting again in Horsham on Saturday September 11th and I will be publishing the new schedule on Tuesday 30th August so please look out for your emails in the late afternoon of that day.
We are also really excited because we will now be using Class4Kids software to run our admin and invoicing systems which will hopefully save us some time and make everything more efficient. It will also give you the option of paying monthly for classes on a subscription basis so you can spread the cost throughout the year. More details will be sent with the emails and schedules on Tuesday.
Spread the word about classes too please if you can.
Can't wait to see you all again.
Take care

Someone You Loved (Piano/Cello) Charity & Andres Farewell Dance - The Piano Guys 26/06/2021

Elisha and I have been watching some amazing contemporary dances today, just for some inspiration and we have been amazed by the talent that is out there in the contemporary world. It's such as shame that the theatres are still struggling to get enough audiences in to make ends meet, but one good thing is that the internet can be a wonderful place to explore some new dancers' work.
Here's one which I found very moving today that I'd like to share with you all which I hope you will all appreciate.
Enjoy it. Gail

Gene Kelly & Donald O'Connor dance medley 1959 25/05/2021

Happy Tap Dance Day to all our lovely dancers, whether you tap or not!

Here's some information about the day from National Day Calendar. (

National Tap Dance Day on May 25th pays tribute to one of America’s original art forms.

Tap dance is a percussive dance dating back to the early 1800s developed primarily from African and Irish influences.

Incorporating complex rhythmic step combinations, performers often expressed enormous amounts of character through sound and bodily movement. From clogging to buck and wing styles, soft-shoe to the sand step, and a little bit of jazz, tap dancing evolved from a stiff Irish jig to the bodily Cakewalk and vocal Ring-shout.

Some of the art form’s most talented dancers included Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, Fred Astaire, Gregory Hines, and Ginger Rogers. But they are just the tip of a long list of performers who added their own flair to a dance style that continues to influence film, music, and stage. Another dance similar to tap dance is called soft-shoe. While still rhythmic, the sound is muffled since tap shoes are not necessary to perform the steps. Many of the dance steps in tap transfer to soft-shoe making the two very compatible.

And here's my own tap dance hero - Gene Kelly with another famous tapper from the time, Donald O'Connor.

Sit back, watch and enjoy!

Really looking forward to another great session in person tomorrow at Horsham.

International Dance Day - International Theatre Institute ITI 29/04/2021

Happy International Dance Day!

Today is International Dance Day and we thought we would let you all know about some exciting dance content that is being put on for all you dance lovers on a few of our favourite websites.

Look at the main IDD website at: and you'll find some dance videos, speeches and presentations and some amazing worldwide inspirations to get you in the mood for a dance.

One of our other favourites is The Place - the home of contemporary dance - as they have a number of exciting dance things to view at
The girls and I were regular visitors to there before lockdown struck and we saw one of our former teachers, Owen, performing in The Snowman, so we love visiting The Place and recommend it to all those who are studying GCSE or BTEC Dance.

And finally, if you want to know how dance can benefit your bones as you get older (well that's me, now most of you!)... then check out the Royal Academy of Dance post about osteoporosis and dance.

So good to be back dancing and we're looking forward to seeing you all again on Saturday.

Great news - we are finally allowed to restart classes in person again, albeit whilst maintaining our Covid-19-safe protocols, which I will be sending out to everyone before classes start again.

It's been over a year since we've seen some of you and we are really keen to get back to classes again for the summer term, and hopefully work towards some small presentation at the end of term too. It's just been TOO LONG!!

Obviously, things have changed a lot in the last year, and we need to be able to put together a schedule that works to keep things going, not only in terms of days/times and venues, but also in terms of the students we now have, the staff we have available and the rooms that we have access to.

Millais are allowing bookings back for us from Saturday 24th April, but not all the rooms are available since they are not letting out any of the drama rooms or the classrooms for the summer term. This will hopefully change in September but for the moment, we have to work with what we have.

We are still waiting to hear a start date from the URC, Dorking, but I'm hoping we can start on either the 20th or 27th April. We will let everyone know as soon as we have confirmation.

Finally, this is an exciting time and there is light at the end of the tunnel so I hope you will join us again in our excitement and I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Please tell all your friends and let everyone know that WE'RE BACK!
