Great news for rhinos in Kenya…

Fantastic news from Kenya! 📣🎉

Kenya is home to important rhino populations. However, poaching and illegal wildlife trade have posed a huge threat to these horned mammals. For over 35 years, WWF has supported rhino conservation in Kenya through the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and local partners – and thanks to this ongoing work, we’re thrilled to share that zero rhino poaching incidents were reported across Kenya in 2022. 🦏

WWF will continue to work with KWS and partners in Kenya to safeguard rhino populations and support their long-term recovery. 🙌

Two years ago today, our first group of corporate volunteers from The Fry Group & Oodle Car Finance arrived at Camp Tsavo in Kenya to build a new nursery at Itinyi Primary School. The warm welcome from our wonderful hosts at Camps International set the tone for a week of new experiences & adventure.

Happy !

Today marks the start of the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration. Our volunteers are looking forward to making their own contribution when we travel to the coastal forests of southern Kenya where our next project will support the local community & their environment.

He's done it! Fantastic effort by Tim who has been supported by friends, clients and colleagues whilst walking for five days through five counties (in all weathers) to reach Ivinghoe Beacon at the end of The Ridgeway.

Together they have raised thousands for our next project. Thank you so much to everyone for helping to make a difference.

A huge thank you to The Fry Group. We are extremely grateful for their continued support of our projects. Thank you also to Jeremy for taking a day out to join Tim on the Big Walk.

Our CEO, Jeremy Woodley, supported Tim Richardson, Co-Founder of BIG Foundation and Founder of Black Isle Group on ‘The BIG Walk’, to raise the funds required to help care staff, NHS workers, emergency services teams, veterans and volunteers participating in life-changing community projects overseas. We are proud to support the Big Foundation and their important fundraising work. Find out more here.

Today, Tim has had the pleasure of ⁦Mark Ling's & Richard Hoskin’s company & support on the final leg of the Big Walk along ⁦The Ridgeway. Thank you to ⁦
⁩for your sponsorship!

Jeremy Woodley, CEO of The Fry Group, is accompanying Tim on today's stretch of The Ridgeway - 23kms from Goring to Watlington.

The Fry Group are great supporters of the Foundation &, in 2019, five of Jeremy's colleagues joined us in Kenya from their offices around the world to help build a new school nursery. Once travel restrictions are lifted, we look forward to welcoming a new team of volunteers from The Fry Group in 2022.

Before & After pictures from Day 2 of the Big Walk.

Today, Tim was joined by a team from Fluro Ltd for a 23-kilometre stretch of The Ridgeway. We have Fluro to thank for creating our wonderful logo & website AND for raising over £1000 for our next project!

Walking has become part of the weekly routine at Fluro. Since the first lockdown, team members have been starting work later on Friday mornings to make time for walks for their wellbeing. And they plan to continue beyond the pandemic.

It was a wet start to the Big Walk but not enough to dampen spirits or spoil the beautiful views from The Ridgeway. Thank you to Hattie for joining Tim on Day 1 and to Black Isle Group for sponsoring the first leg.

Having been postponed and reduced due to covid restrictions, the inaugural Big Walk 2021 is finally underway.

Timed with Mental Health Awareness Week, Tim Richardson will be joined by special guests to walk a 100-kilometre section of The Ridgeway, Britain's oldest road, to:

- Fundraise money for the Foundation's next voluntary project in Kenya (details on website)

- Discuss mental health awareness, leadership and the new world of work in the post-pandemic era

- Celebrate the benefits of getting outdoors and connecting with nature
