What a wonderful church service today!

Well done to all our children, they sang beautifully and made us very proud. Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend; it was lovely to see the church so full.

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow (Wednesday) is PE day, so children need to come to school wearing their PE kit.

Parents and carers are very welcome to join us for the service.
Please note that children should be collected from West Coker Church at 3.15pm, not from the school, as we will remain at the church until the end of the school day.

Our Year 5s had their Step Up Day at Preston Secondary today, and we couldn’t be prouder of them. Their behaviour was absolutely impeccable — they represented our school beautifully and showed maturity, kindness, and enthusiasm throughout the day.

A huge thank you to our wonderful staff for taking them and supporting the children. We’re very grateful for all you do.

Well done, Year 5 — you were fantastic! 💛

🌊 West Coker’s Wonderful Day at the Sealife Centre!
What an absolutely fantastic day we’ve had at the Sealife Centre in Weymouth! The excitement started the moment the children climbed into their teachers’ cars.

Once inside, the children were mesmerised by the incredible sea creatures. Firm favourites included the seals, sharks, turtles, axolotls, and those humongous fish that made a few jaws drop (including ours!). It was such a joy watching them explore, ask questions, and share their discoveries with each other.

Despite the heat, they coped brilliantly — we made plenty of drink stops. They were polite, patient, and wonderfully behaved all day long. A real credit to all our super parents.

A huge personal thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers who joined us today. As always, you go above and beyond, and we couldn’t do these days without you. Thank you so much, Miss Murphy, Miss Sands and Sally.

🌊 Discovery Sea Life Centre Trip – Quick Reminder for Tomorrow 🌊

Just a little reminder for our Discovery Class trip to the Sea Life Centre in Weymouth tomorrow.

Please make sure your child brings:

• Their appropriate car seat
• A packed lunch (unless they usually have school dinners — we’ll provide theirs)
• Drinks for the day
• Sun cream (applied before school)
• Sun hat
• Waterproof coat
• All belongings in a rucksack

If your child is prone to accidental wetting, please pop a spare set of clothes in their bag so we can keep them comfortable throughout the day.

Children should arrive at school at the usual time and will return before the end of the school day. We’re really looking forward to a brilliant visit! 💙🐠

Reminder that Voyagers will be doing their end of year production tomorrow: The Island That Rocks.

Performances at 2pm and 4pm. All parents and carers are welcome to come and watch. Please do come along and support the children and see how fabulous they are.

We will keep the children in class after the first performance ready for the second performance.

No after school club tomorrow.

Me Clapp and Mrs Edwards would like to say just how fantastic Voyager Class were today at the cricket. Their behaviour and enthusiasm for the game was exemplary. A true credit to the school.
