With the return to normality for our bus arrivals, the West Calder breakfast club has seen a huge increase this week in the number of young people attending.

To celebrate, we will be running 'sweet treat Friday' this week before school! Get yourself along to take advantage and see what we have to offer!

As we reflect on another brilliant S1 Residential at WCHS, we must thank this outstanding group of S6 young people who created and led a variety of fun and enjoyable activities for our S1s based around our school values. They led with kindness, care and compassion and were the most amazing role models to our S1s. They worked incredibly hard during the three days but never complained and managed to smile throughout. Thank you to each and every one of them! We are so proud of them!

Please see an important update from West Lothian Public Transport regarding school buses from Monday:

You may be aware that Bank Street, Mid Calder has now reopened to traffic. Routes and timetables for school bus services that have been impacted by this closure will be adjusted from Monday 31 August 2026. Please check the details of your child’s school bus route as pick-up points/times may have changed. All timetables for West Calder High School can be reviewed at:

As advertised last week, this Friday is the first meeting of our Parent Connect Group. All parents are welcome at any point between 10am - 12pm, very convenient for those picking up pupils returning from residential.

This will take place in the partnership room at WCHS and allows parents/ carers to pop in for advice, support or a general chat from friendly, like minded parents.

You can access the partnership room via our community entrance or come to our office reception.
