Back in February we had our Ofsted inspection. We have now received the report and are now able to shout about how incredibly proud we are as a team! It is great to see you all back at Preschool, we hope you all had a great break and a huge thank you from all of the team for the kind gifts we received at the end of last term. We have had an exciting first week and the children have been very busy with trips to the allotment, settling back in to the routine, playing in the garden and so much more.
Our theme this term is planting and growing and the allotment is a great learning experience for the children so weekly visits to tend to our fruit, vegetables and flowers are planned. We will also be continuing with our forest school activities and school preparation for those leaving us in July this year. Please could you let a member of the team know which school your child will be attending for our records. Thank you.

The children and staff have really enjoyed the sunshine over the last few days. We have been using the tools in forest school to make natural sweeping brushes. We have also been to the allotment and it is now ready for use to plant when we return after the Easter holidays. We have also had fun finding our Easter eggs hidden by the Easter bunny in the garden.
Happy holidays to you all and we will look forward to hearing all about your adventures when we return in 13th April.

Last week we had lots of fun disco dancing with our friends, we also had the Karaoke machine so we could sing our favourite songs. We also had an afternoon at the park in the sunshine and several trips to the allotment ready to plant when the weather warms up. Hope everyone had a lovely Mother’s Day and you all liked your ladybird cards.

What an exciting week at preschool last week, we had lots of fun dressing up for world book day. The outfits were amazing! We also had trips to the allotment to get it ready for planting which we will do over the next few weeks and a trip to the library to choose some books.

The children have been very busy this week, with trips to the allotment and the park ! At the allotment the children talked about what we have to do to get it ready for planting and also what we would like to plant. We were also invited to have a look what our neighbour was doing on his allotment.
We celebrated Shrove Tuesday by eating lots of pancakes for snack today. We hope that you all have a great half term break and we look forward to seeing you all the week commencing the 23rd of February 2026.

This week the children have been exploring shapes and practicing our cutting skills following the different patterns on the paper. We had lots of fun completing the obstacle course developing skills such as putting on our coats and shoes, balancing hopping etc. We have also had fun dancing and following the actions to Danny Go! We are very excited as next week we have a karaoke machine and some disco lights arriving so we will all be having a go at singing along to the music!

This week the children have been learning all about the creatures that live in the sea! They have talked about what they eat, where they live etc. we have spoken about how to keep the water ways and seas clean and litter free and we will be off to the canal next week to look more closely at the topic of litter.
The children also helped to make the sea creatures for our display board and have been really interested in our board dedicated to Chinese New Year which we will be talking about nearer the time. We have been playing our fishing game and using the water tray to discuss floating and sinking, we had to guess the items that would float and sink and then test each item to see if we were right!

What a fantastic start to the new term, we have all settled back into our routine and it’s great to see you all back after the festive season. Thank you for the lovely gifts that we received, we are all very grateful. This week the children have been taking part in lots of physical activities and we are very excited to have found ‘Danny go’ the children have enjoyed following his exercises on the large screen.
We all got very excited about the snow and had lots of fun racing around in the garden and trying to catch the snowflakes on our gloves!
We are looking forward to starting hot lunches next week, the menu looks amazing and we can’t wait to try the food.
