We’ve changed! Our Health Futures page may be inactive now, but don’t worry, we haven’t gone anywhere! We are now Shireland Biomedical UTC, partnered with Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust.
We offer an outstanding education for 11-18 year olds, with a curriculum which specialises in developing skills in science, healthcare, medicine and emergency services.
We combine academic study with real-life work projects and partnerships with major health, education and public sector organisations, providing our students with learning opportunities like no other in addition to delivering the standard national curriculum.
Offering tomorrow’s education today, our goal is to equip our students with the academic, practical and life skills they need to succeed, whatever future pathway they choose. Giving them an excellent foundation to thrive and succeed.

Flashback to last Thursday at our activity day here at Health Futures!
Year 6 pupils took part in Science and Health related activities including CPR, first aid, blood pressure reading and of course many exciting science experiments!
We hope to host an activity day every half term, so keep an eye on our social media and our website for more information!

🌿 Mrs Goodwin needs you! 🌿
For our project this half term we are looking at ways we can be a more Eco Friendly school, reducing our Carbon Footprint and improving our natural environment.
As part of this we are planning to build our own greenhouse using plastic bottles! Once built, we will be growing our very own fruit and vegetables in our garden! 🍓🥦🍅🥕
We are looking to collect at least 1000 2ltr bottles for our project. Please give them a rinse, pop the label off and drop them into reception.
We are also looking for bamboo canes/sticks for the structure.

This term, our students have worked extremely hard throughout their assessments and mock exams so we celebrated with a trip to the Frankfurt Christmas market in Birmingham and ice skating!
A great time was had by all!

From January 2022 Health Futures UTC will become Shireland Biomedical UTC and will be joining Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust. As such, we will no longer be offering spaces to year 10 students, but will become a full 11-19 school.
We are now accepting applications into year 7 and year 12 for September 2022!

Yesterday we had a very interesting day here at Health Futures UTC!
Our students were visited by Sandwell School Nurses to talk about puberty, sexual health and healthy relationships.
Our students were able to ask all of their burning questions when visiting the three different stations.

In this session, we learnt how to make slime and witnessed some amazing explosive experiments!
