United Kids Childcare

This week we made snow, the children loved taking part and making predictions of what would happen when we add water to the mixture.
They counted carefully how many spoons of water they needed and made sure we didn't add to much.
We spoke about how cold it was and all the children mixed the snow with their hands.
The children then wanted to make snowballs but the snow kept melting.
One of the children then suggested we put the snowballs into the freezer to turn them into ice, that is exactly what we did.
We then put the extra snow in the fridge to make it cold like real snow.
The children were amazed how that after a couple of hours the snow had changed.
We left the snow and snowballs on the table while we went to sing Christmas songs and have a snowball fight.
When we returned the snowballs had melted.
Today we skipped circle time but that's ok, we all worked together to make snow and we had such great fun while learning.

Yesterday we had the animal lady come to the nursery.
The children were so excited!!!
Even the mouse and snake came from the Gruffalo story.
They all had chance to feed and hold the animals.
They learnt about the animals and all their key features.

Today some of the children went to visit the local Gurdwara.
To give the children real life experiences.
They learned about different celebrations and faiths as well as tasting cultural food.

In Daisies (Babies) they are doing the story of 'The Tiger that came to tea'.

This Half Term has now come to an end but look what is coming next in our Buttercups and Bluebells room(2-5's)
The children love the Gruffalo so much, this is going to be our next focused book.
The Gruffalo tuff tray is all ready and waiting for them, all ready to start the fun next week.

Your child can stay with us until they are reception age.
If you are unsure on how to apply or you don't know when your child should start school, please speak to one of our management team and they will be happy to help you.

If your child is starting reception in September 2020 (or if they're moving from infants to a new junior school) then you can apply online for a school place.

You can also apply online for a secondary school place if your child is due to go into year 7 in September 2020.

It's not first come, first served - but you must have filled in the form by Thursday 31 October for secondary and Wednesday 15 January for primary.

Happy Diwali from us all at United Kids Childcare !
Last week the children made their very own diva lamps.
They made them from scratch just using flour, oil, water and cream of tartar to make salt dough.
Once they had been in the oven and set, the children painted them and added lots of glitter and sparkle.
The children then took them home with a tea light to light with their loved ones.
We also used coloured sand to mark make.
The children looked at how to make rangoli designs and then had a go doing their own in the coloured sand.

Last half term we did the story of 'We are going on a Bear Hunt'.
The children all loved this story so much and they now all know most of the words and some can even recall the whole story.
The staff have gone above and beyond to provide a range of fun 'bear hunt' activities for the children.
Activities and experience include:
- Bear Hunt tuff trays
-Story board on display
- Sensory Walk
- Story telling in our nursery forest school
- Real life hunt for the bears inside and out
- Opportunities to go in our very own deep dark forest
- Water Play
- Making our very own 'Thick Ozzy Mud'
- Hide and seek
-Teddy Bear picnic
We even had a 'Narrow gloomy Cave' too.
As well has home learning opportunities.

Autumn has arrived and our children have been exploring a range of seasonal items.
Looking at different sizes and colours.
We've also been out to explore our forest school and observed what happens to the leaves during Autumn.
