Job Description

Tender Troops Day Nursery and Children Hub is seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Nursery Nurse to join our team in West Bromwich. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and education to children, ensuring their safety, development, and wellbeing in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement stimulating activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to support children’s learning and development.
• Promote and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all children.
• Observe, assess, and document children’s progress, tailoring activities to meet individual needs.
• Foster strong and positive relationships with children, parents, and carers, ensuring effective communication.
• Implement safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and welfare of children at all times.
• Collaborate with colleagues to uphold the nursery’s high standards of care and education.
• Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development, encouraging independence and positive behavior.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily logs, accident reports, and development plans.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
• Level 3 qualification in Childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an early years setting.
• Paediatric First Aid certification (current and valid).
• Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and its implementation in practice.

Skills and Attributes:
• Passionate about providing exceptional care and education for children.
• Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Organized, with strong time-management skills.
• Creative, enthusiastic, and dedicated to fostering children’s development.
• Understanding and empathy for children from diverse backgrounds.

Desirable:
• Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Additional early years training or certifications (e.g., Makaton, Forest School).

Salary and Benefits:

• Salary: £11.44 to £13.44 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Additional benefits to be discussed at the interview.
