🎃 Happiness is Handmade is heading to Forge Mill Farm!

Our enterprise club will be taking their student-run business to Forge Mill Farm for a day during the pumpkin picking season, where they’ll be selling a selection of handmade products.

From keyrings and coasters to guitar picks, portable games and customisable dog tags, there’ll be plenty to browse, with pre-made and customisable products available.

For the students, it’s another chance to step beyond the classroom, speak to customers and put their business experience into practice.

Last week, 31 of our Year 8 students enjoyed an inspiring workplace visit to Sky as part of our Careers Education Programme.

Students went behind the scenes to explore the world of broadcasting, touring the famous Sky News and Sky Sports studios and seeing first-hand how live television is created. They then stepped into the shoes of media professionals, using Sky's cutting-edge technology to produce their own news reports.

From producers and directors to editors, presenters, and voice-over artists, our students experienced a real insight into a day in the life of a Sky professional while developing teamwork, communication, and creative skills.

A brilliant day in the world of Sky professionals! ✨

Last week, our Year 8 students had the fantastic opportunity to hear from Jem Lloyd-Williams, Client President and WPP Media CSO at , a multi-award-winning global media company.

Jem shared his career journey, offering a fascinating insight into the world of marketing and advertising, and his experience supporting some of the world's most recognisable brands.

His key messages focused on the importance of gaining a range of qualifications, seeking out work experience opportunities, embracing technology, and understanding how AI can be used to create a competitive advantage in the workplace.

A huge well done to our Year 8 students, who listened attentively throughout and asked thoughtful, insightful questions. It's safe to say that the next generation of marketers and advertisers left feeling inspired!

11/09/2026

We’re pleased to share that our Academy has achieved the Inclusive Attendance Bronze Award, recognising the progress made during the first year of the Trust-wide Inclusive Attendance programme.

The award recognises the work taking place across our school community to strengthen attendance practice, understand the reasons behind absence and identify barriers earlier so that pupils and families can receive the right support.

As part of the programme, Academy leaders and attendance teams have been developing a shared understanding of attendance and looking at how everyone across the school community can play a role in supporting positive attendance.

The work was celebrated at the Trust’s Inclusive Attendance Conference at the new Shireland Training Centre in Oldbury. Colleagues came together to review national attendance data, consider emerging trends and reflect on the next steps in developing their practice.

Regular attendance gives children and young people access to learning, relationships and the wider experiences of school life. The Bronze Award recognises the foundations we have established, and we’ll continue to build on this work as we progress towards the Silver Award.
