She also highlighted the exciting taster sessions at Aston University, giving students a real feel for campus life and academic studies.

Our Year 12 students from Shireland CBSO Academy and Shireland Biomedical UTC had the incredible opportunity to meet CPO (CA2) John Newman from the Royal Navy! 🫶

John shared his personal journey and gave students an in-depth look at the various roles within the Navy, as well as the educational pathways like university and apprenticeships that can kickstart a career in the armed forces.

The session was full of engaging discussions, with students asking insightful questions and gaining a clearer perspective on the skills, support, and opportunities available for those considering a future in the Royal Navy.

Our Sixth Form students had the incredible opportunity to hear from BdCpl Georgina Dawkins and BdCpl Joanne Leonard of the Royal Marines Band Service in a special Futures Talk. ✨

From performing at King Charles III’s Coronation to the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, their stories showcased the dedication, discipline, and musical excellence required in this prestigious unit. Students also learned about the Royal Marines’ Life Course, a fantastic opportunity for young musicians considering a career in military music!
