Pre-school are learning about size,capacity and diffrent textures, we had lots of fun exploring and mixing the lentils and rice together.

Christmas dinner 🍽 🎄

Pre-school decorated biscuits, they showed good understanding of turn taking. They really enjoyed spreading the icing and decorating the biscuits.

Santa came to drop off the presents for the children...the children were really excited to see santa 🤶 🧑‍🎄

During the fun and festive time the pre-school children had lots of fun making their Christmas cards🎄☃️❄️

Thank you to our Dentist Dr Gupta to have kindly come in and visit us at the nursery and teach us and our children the importance of healthy eating and good dental hygiene…

The children thoroughly enjoyed and were very engaged in listening to what was important for our teeth and what was bad for our teeth
They had an opportunity to practice how to brush teeth using “A Giant toothbrush and giant teeth” and also to see what foods were good and bad for out teeth

Here at Sadwica we have a cook at the nursery that cooks food from fresh. Her meals are delicious and highly nutritious. She takes into account the children's dietary requirements and will encourage the children to eat alongside staff members in a fun and productive way. There is NO additional cost for funded children to eat at our nursery as we believe that a well fed child is a happy and content child.

Welcome to Tiny Stars...
This is our baby room which caters for children between the ages of 3 months to two years. We have low level furniture and soft play toys, making it a fun and comfortable environment for our babies and young children. The room is flexible and therefore can be adapted for babies who are not walking and our older one year old children. We follow the babies individual care routines which they are accustomed to at home. The children learn and develop through play, following the three prime areas of learning taken from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), these are Communication and Language, Physical and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. We do have lots of sensory and messy play so please do not put your children in their best clothes.

Rising Stars is a caring and stimulating environment for our toddlers. We focus on the three areas of development The children learn and develop through play, following the three prime areas of learning taken from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), these are Communication and Language, Physical and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. We follow the children's unique interests which guides our planning and helps staff to set targets for the children. All toys and equipment are on the children's level which encourages independence and social interactions. Staff support children to achieve their full potential with a range of activities both indoors and outdoors.
Rising stars has a bathroom with low level toilets and sink, good hygiene is encouraged, and children are supported to wash their hands after using the toilet. We work in partnership with parents to potty train the children and encourage self-care skills from an early age.

This is the room for 3-5 year olds, it is a fun, exciting room for the children to play and explore. We encourage the children to learn through play whilst following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We teach the children to enjoy their learning and hopefully give the children a good start for for school life. We aim to provide the same standard of teaching as nursery schools and due to our lower ratios we can provide a nurturing and caring environment for the children to ensure learning from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), these are Communication and Language, Physical and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. Preschool children also follow the four specific areas of learning, these are Literacy, Maths, Expressive Arts and Design, and Understanding of the World. Most importantly children have fun whilst at the nursery.

Sadwica was founded by a group of BME parents over 45 years ago, who were disaffected by the lack of childcare facilities that met their children’s cultural, social and emotional needs. Sadwica started as a small group, meetings in each others houses and initially were given a room at George Salter High School in which to operate their activities. We later moved to Farley Park before settling at our present location in 1999 and opening the day nursery with the support of a 3 year grant from the Lottery. In 2010 we were successful in obtaining the capital grant funding which allowed us to change room layouts and offer free flow to the pre school room. We were also granted money for the garden to be landscaped.
