This week Discoverers were learning the importance of washing their hands. The book of the week told us all about the germs and children then had an opportunity to join in many germs related activities. Children also learned a new song to wash their hands.
🥣"This ones just right" 🥣
We are continuing to explore new foods that link to some of our favourite books. This time we have been reading Goldilocks and the three bears, and we chose to make the porridge from this story. The children took it, in turn, to add different ingredients to their porridge before they enjoyed eating it all.
As a weekend challenge the children where asked to collect flowers, twigs and leafs to create their own flower vases.

Fine motor skills
In Discovers we have been looking at fine motor skills and helping children to develop their fine motor skills. We have Incorporated it into different activities. from pasta threading to adding pom poms to art work.
🥔🐄 Our farm 🥔🐄
In Discovers the children enjoyed a farm based tuff tray. this lead to them talking about the different animals on the farm and foods that can be grown on a farm. our children enjoyed talking about all the different foods we can go grow in the ground, so we've decided to make our own vegetable patches.

🦷🦷Have you booked the dentist? 🦷🦷

⛔️ Nursery closure notice (Friday March 10th)
In light of the weather conditions, the resultant treacherous travel conditions and a risk assessment undertaken, the nursery will be closed today.
We have waited as long as we could in the hope that the snow would stop and temperatures would rise but that unfortunately is not the case.
This decision has not been made lightly but there is really no alternative, the duty of care to all children and staff travelling to and from the nursery is paramount.
We appreciate your understanding on this matter and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
