This week one of our little ones turned 2 🥳

We celebrated at Little Palms with dancing and lots of peppa pig activities and to finish the day we had a little party where we sang happy birthday and had some cake 🎂 😋

Happy 2nd birthday little one we hope you had an amazing day celebrating with your loved ones 🥰

Salt Mark Making Tray 🧂

Salt trays are easy to prepare with minimal resources all you need is a tray and some salt.

As one of our mindees has been showing an interest in boats this week, we chose to make ours blue like water by mixing some blue food colouring to our salt 💙 We also added some mark making cards from 'row, row, row your boat' & paint brushes to help strengthen our fine motor skills 🖌️

Salt Trays are a great way to practice mark making and develop pre-writing skills 👐

Over the weekend one of our little mindees celebrated their 1st birthday 🎂 of course we had to have a little celebration here too!

Recently one of our little ones has shown an interest in the inset puzzles 🧩

Puzzles have many benefits for young children;

- They are an excellent tool for developing fine motor skills and strengthening finger muscles 👐

- Develop early maths skills; shape recognition

Time to relax with a little bit of yoga 🥰🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️

We've been enjoying the Hungry Caterpillar story recently so what better way to enjoy the story than with a story basket to explore 🧺

We've also made our own beautiful caterpillar paintings 🐛

Posting a little late 🙈 but over the Easter holiday we had lots of fun exploring different activities 🤗

- Sensory tray for scooping and pouring 🐇
- Sticking and gluing to make Easter pictures 🐥
- Making Easter nest cakes 🍫
- Water play with frozen coloured eggs & looking at how we could melt the ice using different things 🧊🥚
- A visit to the farm to feed the animals and see all the baby lambs and chicks 🐑🐣

On Friday, we dressed up with Bluey for Red Nose Day 2024.

We enjoyed colouring some Bluey pictures to take home, dancing to some of our favourite songs, and making lots of yummy cakes 😋

World book day 2024 📚

Last week for World book day one of our little ones brought a book in to share with us - Peppa pig dinosaur hunt 🦖🦕

We enjoyed exploring the tuff tray using lots of different dinosaurs and all our peppa figures. We used lots of vocabulary learning new words during play as well as mark making in the sand 🥰

Tell a fairy tale day 🐻

Today was tell a fairy tale day - we chose to look at Goldilocks and the three bears 🐻 🐻🐻

We've been working on using cutlery at meal times so focused on using spoons to feed the bears some porridge oats from different sized bowls 🥣

We've also been learning lots of new vocabulary, so what perfect way to look at short simple words "big, small, soft, hard"
