DID YOU KNOW -
Nursery rhymes have so many benefits for young children...
Not only do children love them - For many children, nursery rhymes are the first songs that they know really well.
Nursery rhymes have a massive positive impact on children’s development. They give children early exposure to language, rhyme, and alliteration.
🐝 Black & Yellow rice tray We added scoops, bowls and hives made from pasta to the rice to explore.
🐝 Bumblebee paintings - We used a potato masher to make our own pictures of bumblebees.
🐝 We looked at a range of age appropriate bee books 📚
We've been learning some new bee nursery rhymes... our favourite was Here is the beehive 🐝

Exploring the Colour Monster and his Emotions 👾
Lots of learning opportunities - developing fine motor skills, learning about colour and talking about our feelings 😊😔😡
It's national story telling week. We enjoy stories everyday at Little Palms!
Today we have enjoyed exploring the Gruffalo story using finger puppets to retell our own story.
For the big garden bird watch we kept it simple by using birds seeded food as a base for emptying and filling 🐦
We love to get the paints out and explore with colours 🎨
The children have the opportunity to use paint tools if they want to, they also have the opportunity to use their body parts - hands, fingers, feet etc whichever they choose to explore with.
The important part is children love to get messy- it's all part of the process not what the end result looks like. 🎨🖌🤚
