Theresa Hinks Violin Violin Teacher in Devon
I play for weddings, funerals and events, etc.
(1)

I started learning the violin just before I was 3, and over the years have built up a wealth of knowledge and love for my instrument, with over a decade's teaching experience in schools and privately. I'm passionate about teaching and helping people with the tools to grow their own ability to play music, experience music, and share it with others. I've played in live bands across Devon and Cornwal

l, in ensembles and orchestras including currently Plymouth University Orchestra, "in the pit" for productions, and regularly play solo for the local church. I have ABRSM Grade 8 and am fully insured, have an enhanced DBS certificate and am a member of the European String Teachers Association. I teach all ages and abilities, tailoring to the needs and goals of each individual, drawing from a wide range of methods. For those who wish to work for exams, I enter students and have a 100% success rate. I have a small number of violins available to borrow for an initial period if required. If you would like further information about lessons for yourself or your child, are interested in my playing for your event, or just have a few queries, please drop me a line :)

Oh what a beautiful day. Children inspire me every day, in ways big and small. And particularly on a recent exam day - huge congratulations to Clara for passing Grade 2 with Distinction, for your effort, enthusiasm, dedication and love of music, and shining through exam nerves. And to Erin, passing with Merit, and your fantastic energy, musicality and verve, you rock. Enjoy the summer everyone, and keep shining 🌟🎵

Ultimately, I want my students to have a way to express themselves, to communicate and share with others, and to experience joy in music. But look at all the other things it gives you!

There are also many interesting articles in Jesta - a magazine for young string players - to enthuse for the last half term of the summer.

I'll be giving some copies of these magazines out in lessons, and you can find them here too:

I'm looking forward to it!
