We’ve had fun this week learning all about the butterfly life cycle and the hungry caterpillar. The Children were very excited to see the caterpillars turning into chrysalides! We also decided to recreate a ‘beach’ inspired by a recent trip to the seaside with rocks we found there!

These last couple of weeks have all been about growth and the children have been enjoying planting and watching their own cress heads grow, repotting our sunflowers and investigating all parts of the plant including the roots. We also went on a visit to pick our own strawberries and brought them home to prepare and eat! And there was an exciting delivery this week of caterpillars ready for next week where we’ll be learning about the butterfly life cycle 🦋

As this week is British Science week, we decided to make ‘slime’. We had a lot of fun getting messy with this one, J enjoyed mixing all the ingredients together and we talked about what it felt like and whether it was a liquid or solid. We also mixed in blue and yellow colouring and watched as it turned green! And of course my hand had to be covered slime 😆 have to admit, I did enjoy the sensory experience as well!

In honour of world book day this week, we headed to the library to find some new reads, J was adamant we could only have books containing ‘trains or planes’ 🤣Later on, the boys decided to bring their tent downstairs to make a reading den and of course we had to have hot chocolates to make it extra cosy! Today we headed to a lovely little role play place called ‘dinky street’, there were so many different areas to explore, we’ll definitely be going back!
