Wembley Stadium Speakers

Last night at Wembley Stadium Speakers, our Toastmaster of the Evening set a creative theme - DIY: not home improvement, but "self-improvement".

We heard three prepared speeches that were inspiring, informative, persuasive and thoroughly entertaining! From the symbolism of hats, to the benefits of smart meters, and even a spooky story about ghosts, each speaker brought their own unique energy and message.

Our General Evaluator joined us from Australia, where he’s based - a wonderful reminder of how truly international the Toastmasters community is. 🌏

Our Table Topics session explored the theme of self-improvement through a DIY lens. The reflections shared reminded us that personal growth takes consistency, discipline, and courage - that it’s okay to make mistakes, as long as we learn and keep building.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and helped to create another evening full of learning, laughter, and connection - exactly what Toastmasters is all about.

Last night didn’t go to plan and maybe that’s exactly what we needed!

We were expecting a fresh and exciting meeting, with guests from another club taking on key roles. But due to illness and unforeseen events, our Toastmaster of the Evening, both speakers, the Sergeant at Arms, and the General Evaluator all had to pull out.

Suddenly - no agenda.
But also, a wake-up call.

The same few members stepped forward (again) to save the evening. And instead of pushing through with a patched-together meeting, we paused. We had the courage to turn it into an educational moment and it sparked a genuine, honest, and much-needed conversation.

We spoke about:
🔹 Ownership - what it means to be a member of Wembley Stadium Speakers
🔹 Responsibility - to ourselves and each other
🔹 Impact - how we show up (or don’t) shapes the experience for everyone

It could have fallen flat, but it didn’t.
The room leaned in. We reflected. We committed.

Then we explored “mistakes” through Table Topics: the ones we regret, the ones that shaped us, and the ones we now see as small messes we simply clean up and learn from.

We left, as we always do, inspired.
And maybe this time, just a little more accountable.

Last night at Wembley Stadium Speakers, we welcomed Monty for our Inner Voice Speaks Out workshop - and what an evening it was!

The energy in the room was incredible, and the laughter was from the belly. Monty pushed us out of our comfort zones, helping us to:

➡️ Understand how psychology can hold us back
➡️ See our voice as a powerful instrument - and learn how to get more from it by becoming more conscious

We’re so grateful to Monty for spending the evening with us, making us laugh out loud, and sharing his experience and insights.
