Thursday
Another amazing day at Tewin! We were joined by SKIP2BFIT, Frank the tortoise and SO many lovely families at the end of the day! We learnt how to look after a tortoise, Skipped our hearts out and learnt how to stay fit and what that feels like, there was a miniature treasure hunt, The children made and wore EXCELLENT Science themed t-shirts which inspired all of us and the day was finished off with a fantastic Marshmetti Challenge. Over 20 families attended, aiming to build the tallest or most creative freestanding structure, using only spaghetti and marshmallows. Winners will be announced next week! Thank you SO much for coming and making this such a great event!

A HUGE Thank-You from all of us at Tewin Cowper to our amazing supporters. Ian Adam-Smith who kindly raised the funds from his trust for this week to happen and also to Francis, a local man who wished to give something back to the community and sponsored our KAPLA Clubs workshop. We are so very grateful for the amazing experience and opportunities this week has given us :)

SCIENCE WEEK 2025
Wednesday...
We welcomed Jennifer from KAPLA Clubs, Matt with his WONDERDOME and Ranger Lucy! We constructed a wooden world using KAPLA blocks then had a huge deconstruction and of course the huge clear up led by Y3! We learnt all things Space related in the mobile planetarium and met lots of wonderful animals with Lucy! Y5 also made amazing birds nests!

SCIENCE WEEK 2025!
Tuesday...
We welcomed Varenya from the Blue Cross and Mad Science! We learnt how to look after our pets and dog safety, gases and COMBUSTION, hypotheses and fair testing, made super spinners, wacky weather, mad materials, mad machines, epic electricity, space race, dynamic DNA and in the garden!! A truly epic day of science!

SCIENCE WEEK 2025
MONDAY- A WHIZZ POP BANG to start off our week of awe and wonder! We welcomed BOFFINS science experts in and loved the whole school assembly which was followed by class activities involving 'which curve is longer- red or yellow? Swinging a bucket of water, making human conductors, shooting dry ice (a huge hit!!) and exploring dry ice! We also welcomed the lovely Mandy from the RVCwho taught us about the role of the heart and we explored animal bones and food production. We also made cheese!! On top of all of that we dissected and explored real pigs hearts to see first hand how the heart was made up! What a fantastic day!!

Reception are having a fab afternoon enjoying their new water trays! What a super way to cool down in the heat! (Please note the children are only playing in the shaded areas, the soft floor area is closed off) A massive thank you to the super star dads who made these for us! Problem solving and talk galore today!

Invitation to support a University of Hertfordshire research study exploring selective eating and neurodiversity in families, with a focus on how children’s eating patterns may relate to parental eating behaviours. The study aims to include parents and caregivers of both autistic and neurotypical children aged 3–16 years.
