✨ Last week at Play at Little Loves! It
We may not have remembered to get the camera out for Play-Doh at group (but
home is where the mess is at) however we definitely kept little hands busy!

🧸Plenty of open-ended play
👋🏻Lots of lovely new families joining us
💛And, of course, our wonderful regulars!

We've had some full sessions lately, and it's been so lovely seeing friends arrange to meet up and enjoy some time together while the little ones play.

From first visits to familiar faces, we're loving seeing the room fill with happy children, busy little hands and plenty of grown-up chats too.☕️

💦🫧 **This week at Play at Little Loves!** 🫧💦

Our little ones have been having lots of fun exploring our **Tuff Tray** filled with bubbly water! 🥰

With **squeezy bottles, pipettes and jugs**, they enjoyed squeezing, pouring, filling and experimenting with the bubbles. 💧🧴

This simple activity encouraged **fine motor development, hand-eye coordination and curiosity**, all whilst having lots of fun learning through play! 🌈✨

🎨 **We got the paints back out!** 🎨

It’s been a little while since we’ve had the paints out at Play at Little Loves, so this week we made the most of it! 🥰

The children:
🖌️ Coloured in some of our character pictures
🎨 Created our very own symmetrical smudge prints
👐 And, of course, got those little hands and fingers wonderfully messy!

There’s something so lovely about letting little ones explore paint freely — making marks, mixing colours and getting stuck in! 💕✨

Another fun-filled week of **laughing, learning and getting messy together!** 🌈

🌈 **Rainbow rice!** 🌈

Thank you so much for being patient with us being closed Monday while we celebrated Rosie’s 2nd birthday! 🎂💕

This week’s tabletop activity was rainbow-coloured rice, which Rosie and Tommy helped me make. 🥰 It’s brilliant for scooping, pouring, fine motor skills… and the **ASMR sound is so satisfying!** 😂

**The only downside?** 🤦‍♀️ It ended up EVERYWHERE! I spent **45 minutes hoovering** and I’m still convinced I’ll be finding rice in random places next week! 😂🌈

Worth it though… the children loved it! 💕

This week we got **M E S S Y** with our coloured oobleck! 💙💛💗💚

It was a HUGE hit with lots of our little ones, who couldn’t resist squishing, squeezing, scooping and exploring this wonderfully strange sensory mixture. There were hands, arms, tools and, in some cases, *quite a lot* of oobleck covered in it all! 😂

But that’s what sensory play is all about — getting stuck in, exploring and learning through play.

🌟 **EYFS learning through oobleck:**
• **Physical Development** – strengthening little hands and fingers through squeezing, scooping, pouring and manipulating the oobleck.
• **Understanding the World** – exploring cause and effect and noticing how the oobleck behaves differently when it is handled quickly or slowly.
• **Communication & Language** – describing what they could see and feel and sharing their discoveries with grown-ups and friends.
• **Expressive Arts & Design** – exploring colour and creating their own sensory experiences.
• **Personal, Social & Emotional Development** – building confidence to explore something new, sharing resources and enjoying the experience alongside others.

And yes… it was **VERY messy!** 😂🙈

But messy hands, curious minds and happy children are exactly what we love to see at **Play at Little Loves**. ❤️

This weeks tabletop activity was **Puffle Play, Play-Doh and building blocks**! 💛

Puffle Play is such a unique sensory material, and some of our little learners absolutely loved exploring its soft, fluffy texture. We provided fewer utensils to encourage hands-on exploration, helping to build fine motor skills, hand strength and creativity. Play-Doh tools were still available for children who wanted to use them, allowing everyone to play in their own way.

Our building blocks were also a big hit, supporting problem-solving, imagination, balance and teamwork as the children built and created together.

Learning through play is always at the heart of what we do, and this week was full of sensory exploration, creativity and lots of smiles! 🌈

Week one of the summer holidays has been a busy one at Play at Little Loves! ☀️💛

This week’s tabletop activity was soft shaving foam and hair mousse, with cupcake cases and colourful pom-poms to decorate. It was a wonderfully sensory activity that encouraged creativity, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and imaginative play. As an added bonus, it left the room smelling beautifully fresh! 🌸

Not every child wanted to explore the foam, and that’s absolutely okay. Some preferred to spend their time with the bucket of water and cloth for handwashing, happily washing their hands over and over again.
Following children’s interests is all part of the fun. 💦

A special thank you to all of our bigger children who joined us this week. You were so thoughtful and gentle around our younger babies 🥰

**POV: You ask your tiny apprentice to help with the cleaning... 🧽😂**

At playgroup, clean toys, surfaces and spaces aren’t just about looking tidy—they’re about creating a safe, healthy environment for little hands that love to explore (and put everything in their mouths! 😅).

Every week we give everything a DEEP clean so your little ones can play, learn and discover with confidence. 💛

As for my mini helper... she gave it her all and was *completely* worn out by the end. Safe to say she clocked off early for a well-earned lie down! 😴👶

Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead—we can’t wait to see our little loves next week! 🌈 ✨
