Hi, I am Maureen, I am a qualified Childminder and along with my husband Guy, we provide a child minding service in the west side of Welwyn Garden City (close to the town centre). Having 2 teenage children of our own, we have vast experience in caring for children of all ages. We are able to provide care for children aged from 6 months onwards. On a daily basis, we drop-off and pickup children who attend school at Templewood School, Welwyn Garden City and Footsteps pre-nursery. The children find it really beneficial to socialise with pupils from other years, both in the playground and school environment. While children are in our care, we are able to provide a nurturing and balanced environment in our home; where each child can discover their unique potential – academically, socially and interpersonally. We help them to build self-confidence and a love of learning, giving every child in our care a solid foundation for a healthy and happy life. We have been busy celebrating Chinese New Year. The children have watched ceebeebies Chinese children celebrating. We read Peppa Pig Chinese New Year book and like the children in the story opened our fortune cookies. Lots of arts and crafts making Chinese red envelopes, lanterns and colouring dragon pictures. The children were role playing with the play kitchen turned into a Chinese restaurant. Lots of opportunities to learn about other countries traditions.
