🏠✏️ Year 5 Art

This week, Year 5 have been developing their observational drawing skills by sketching a house from observation. They used basic shapes to place key features and create their composition, carefully measuring to work out proportions.

The children also focused on observing closely, noticing and incorporating small details to make their drawings more accurate and detailed. We were so impressed with the concentration, creativity and attention to detail shown! 🎨✨

🏫✨ Year 3 PSHE Learning

In PSHE, Year 3 have been learning about what makes a school a safe and happy place and exploring their right to learn.

We designed our own nightmare schools and dream schools, thinking carefully about what helps children feel safe, included and ready to learn. 🌈📚

We had some really interesting conversations and shared lots of thoughtful ideas about what makes a school a great place to be. 💭❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our Jeans for Genes Day on Friday!

It was lovely to see so many children and staff swapping their usual school clothes for their jeans and helping us support such an important cause.

We are delighted to share that, together, we raised a fantastic £127! 🎉

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Year 5 Fun Run at Ridgeway! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Year 5 had a fantastic time at Ridgeway taking part in a fun run! 🌟 Some of our children also took on the challenge of the competitive race, showing incredible determination, resilience and enthusiasm.

We are delighted that several of our children secured a place in the District Cross Country team! 🎉👏

We are incredibly proud of all the children who took part and represented our school so brilliantly. Well done, Year 5! ⭐️

This week, Year 1 have been busy learning one more using number lines and cubes.

🔢In Art, we have been exploring different types of lines, and in English, we have been practising using capital letters and full stops in our writing.

Yesterday, Year 6 had a fantastic time learning to play Happy by Pharrell Williams on the glockenspiels! 🎵

The children worked brilliantly together, developing their rhythm and timing as they played along with the music. It was wonderful to hear everyone performing together and, most importantly, enjoying making music! 🎼👏
