Playschool Nursery Welwyn

Last week the Toddler children were busy learning all about numbers and shapes! They made their own shapes out of lolly pop sticks while counting the sides of the shapes and cutting out shapes that they had drawn. “1, 2, 3!”, “I’ve made a triangle!” The children were also developing their fine motor skills whilst practicing their cutting skills using paper scissors to try and cut out different shapes!🟥🔻

During the week commencing 11th November, the children and staff at Playschool Nursery were busy making and decorating cakes to help raise money for children in need! The children and staff also had the opportunity to come to nursery in their comfiest pyjamas!

Last week all our children across the nursery enjoyed a variety of creative activities based around bonfire and fireworks night. They all really enjoyed developing their sensory and fine motor skills, printing their fireworks using recycled kitchen roll tubes, paint and glitter ✨🌌

Last week all our children really enjoyed their theme/topic of Halloween! They all got the opportunity to take part in a messy foam activity where they explored different kinds of pumpkins in a Halloween-themed tuff tray. The children also enjoyed listening to the story ‘Room on the Broom’! Using different paints and stamps the children even created their own Halloween pictures and their own ‘BOO’ paintings. “It’s a ghost!"👻🎃

Last week our Under 2's children sang lots of songs, learning lots of number rhymes such as ‘Five Current Buns’, ‘ Five Fat Sausages’ and '1, 2, 3, 4, 5 once I caught a fish alive’! The children even explored a number of rhyme tuff trays with different props related to quantity and size from all the different songs! 🎶

The wobblers enjoyed lots of different activities in the week relating to Space! Some of these activities included a space tuff tray containing blue foam, tin foil, and wooden stars for the children to explore, painting their own wooden stars yellow and sticking them to purple paper, before adding space stickers to create their own space picture! ✨🪐
