As part of Drowning Prevention week, the children had a special assembly today focusing on water safety and how to stay safe around water. Thank you to Matt from HSV for a great assembly with important messages around water safety.

Refugee Week 2026 will take place from Monday, June 15th to Sunday, June 21st. The theme for 2026 is "Courage".
Refugee Week 2026 invites us to come together with the courage to welcome others, stand up for our values, and celebrate the richness of culture and community. It is an opportunity to find joy, imagine new possibilities, nurture healing, build connections, and dream of a more inclusive future. Courage is not always dramatic or outspoken. Often, it is found in everyday actions, welcoming a neighbour, trying a new cuisine, reading a book, or watching a film that broadens your perspective.

Thank you to the team of people (some escaped before the photograph) who gave up some of their morning to join us in sprucing up the Reception garden and other key areas of the school. Great work done by all!

Today is World Oceans Day, a time to celebrate the amazing oceans that help support life on Earth every single day. Our oceans produce much of the oxygen we breathe, help keep our climate balanced, and are home to a wonderful variety of sea life.
Unfortunately, pollution, plastic waste, and climate change are putting our oceans and marine animals at risk. The good news is that even small actions can make a big difference. Reducing single-use plastics, recycling carefully, and helping to keep beaches and waterways clean are all simple ways we can help protect our oceans for the future.
By working together, we can all help care for our beautiful blue planet.

Gulliver’s update: The children have had a good nights rest and are just enjoying breakfast. Next it’s off to a workshop before go over to the theme park for some rides.
