Congratulations to our Early Career Teachers on successfully completing their two-year programme!
A huge thank you to our Professional Mentor, Mr Green, and all of our mentors for their dedication, support, and guidance throughout this journey. It was a wonderful way to mark the end of the programme, celebrating together with an afternoon tea at Tewinbury Farm. We are incredibly proud of all that our teachers have achieved and wish them continued success in their careers.

What a fantastic day! 15 of our Year 8 students had recently learnt about careers in the emergency services and wider service industry.
Students had the opportunity to meet representatives from the police, ambulance, and fire services, gaining valuable insight into a range of exciting career pathways. Throughout the day, they took part in a variety of engaging activities designed to develop their employability skills and increase their understanding of different job roles. One of the highlights of the day was meeting a couple of police dogs and learning more about the important role they play in supporting police work.

Congratulations to all the students who received the Headteacher’s Commendation Award this week, recognising the wonderful achievements and high standards demonstrated across the school.

A special thank you also to our Catering Manager Leeane and her team for the gorgeous spread. Everything was beautifully presented and thoroughly enjoyed. We are very grateful for all your hard work and attention to detail.

Congratulations to our Year 11 students on officially completing their GCSE exams. We are incredibly proud of the dedication and maturity they have shown throughout the exam period, as well as their commitment to attending the pre-exam lessons. Their excellent attendance at these sessions right up to the final GCSE exam has been outstanding.

We wish them every success in the future and the very best for the next stage of their journey. Good luck to all of our students attending the Sixth Form induction on Friday.

For Proud Thursday last week, we heard from Solace (10BP), who proudly showcased her project exploring the work of Angela Faustina. Through detailed research and thoughtful presentation, Solace captured the artist’s use of vibrant colour, realism and emotion to communicate themes of beauty, resilience and identity. The project reflected a significant investment of time, and creativity, and her dedication was clear to see throughout. Well done, Solace!

Across 5 separate trips, all 70 GCSE Geography students have undertaken two geography fieldtrips within the local area - a river study at Wheathampstead and Stanborough Lake, and an urban study in Welwyn Garden City. Behaviour and engagement were exceptional and we are very lucky to have such wonderful fieldwork opportunities on our doorstep.
