Year 5 dance festival tickets are now available to purchase on the Hawthorne theatre website.
Commonswood are performing on Wednesday 27th March.

WH Primary Schools Dance Festival 2024 - Campus West The Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield Primary School Dance Festival is a fun, non-competitive event. It gives children the opportunity to dance on a big stage, under lights with costumes and a large audience.

Regarding suitcases, please grab your child’s suitcase from the coach (same place as on Monday morning) and then meet us in the Junior Hall to collect your child ☺️

We are about 20 minutes away from the school.

The coach will park on the main road so please do meet us in the Junior Hall.

Just as a reminder, if your child does have any medication please find Miss Smith in the hall, who will have the medication suitcase.
If you would like any of your child’s medications kept at school (inhalers), just let Miss Smith know ☺️

Our current ETA is 7:20. We will let you know if this changes ☺️

Friday evening return:

The safety of your children on our return is paramount. Please meet us in the Junior hall.

The coach will aim to get down the Commons, however, if it does have to park on the main road we will ensure procedures will be followed to get the children to the school safely. Please do not meet us at the coach.

We will post on here with our ETA, we are leaving Skern at 12:30 and are hoping to be back about 6:30, but it may be later due to Friday traffic.

If your child has medication (inhalers, tablets etc.) please meet Miss Smith in the hall as she will have all of the medication to return to you.

Please be patient with us this evening as we have got a lot of children to return to you ☺️

Today, the children completed surfing and body boarding at the beach and others completed river kayaking, which was great fun!

We also scaled the climbing and abseiling walls and had a really good go at the assault course.

This evening, we had a campfire, where we tried to light our own fires (some of us were successful 🔥). We then finished off the evening with toasted marshmallows and hot chocolate 💤

Today, some of the groups went surfing and body boarding. It was very windy and we started off the activity being a bit chilly but everyone got in and thoroughly enjoyed themselves! 🏄🏻

2 of the groups did river kayaking on the River Torridge and had a hilarious time!

The groups then took part in climbing activities: either the high ropes or climbing and abseiling 🧗🏻‍♀️

For dinner, we had a delicious chicken curry, which went down a treat, and some children even wanted seconds!

This evening, all of us took part in a scavenger hunt - there were a lot of laughs! 😂

Today, we went rafting and had loads of fun splashing about in the River Torridge 🚣‍♀️

Some of us then completed the High Ropes, while others of us explored underground tunnels and enjoyed a crate stacking experience.

A couple of brave team members conquered the Leap of Faith 💪🏼

This evening, we had some fun outdoor games near the site.

All of the children are now asleep and we’re looking forward to another fun-filled day tomorrow ☺️

We have spent the afternoon either climbing and abseiling or completing an assault course. The children have been in great spirits!

This evening, we had a delicious dinner and took part in the Appledore Mystery Trail. The children are now getting themselves sorted for bed.

We will give you further updates tomorrow - for now, it’s bedtime for us all! Especially the adults 🌠

We have all made it to Skern safely and are just about to start our afternoon activity! The children are very excited 🧗🏻‍♀️
