Carter’s Sunflowers has achieved the National Autistic Society Autism Specialist Award at an advanced level!

This is such a huge milestone for us and reflects the dedication, passion, and commitment of our incredible team, who work every day to provide the highest quality support for our children.

The Autism Accreditation Committee recognised our strong, embedded understanding of evidence-informed autism practice, highlighting our child-centred approach, total communication environment, and the safe, inclusive spaces we create where children feel understood and able to thrive.

Five years ago, we opened our doors to just six children with a mission to transform early years experiences for autistic children… and today, we are so proud to see that vision recognised. Thank you to our amazing staff, families, and community for your continued support, we couldn’t have done this without you 🌻

Huge congratulations to .lorimer for completing the iconic London Marathon — what an incredible achievement! We are beyond proud of everything you have accomplished. Not only did you take on this amazing challenge, but you’ve also raised vital funds and awareness for Carter’s Sunflowers, helping us continue to make a difference in the lives of autistic children and their families. Today is Autism Acceptance day but at Carter’s Sunflowers, this isn’t just a date on the calendar… it’s our every day.
It’s in the quiet moments where a child is finally understood without needing words.
It’s in the patience, the connection, the small but powerful breakthroughs that others might miss.
It’s in the way we celebrate every child as they are — not for who they might become, but for who they already are.
We see the beauty in different ways of communicating, playing, and experiencing the world.
We stand beside our children and their families — on the hard days, the joyful days, and all the in-between moments.
Because acceptance isn’t a campaign. It’s love, it’s respect, it’s belonging… every single day. Today, and always, we are proud to be a place where every child is truly seen 🌻

We’re delighted to welcome James Hunt, founder of Stories About Autism and S.A.A Clothing, and author of the wonderful book Love Needs No Words, to Carter’s Sunflowers Nursery! James will be joining us on Wednesday 18th March at 10am for a Q&A session and book signing. This is a fantastic opportunity to hear more about his journey, autism advocacy, and the inspiration behind his work. Books will be available to purchase on the day, or you can buy your copy in advance and bring it along to be signed.
We are really looking forward to welcoming James and sharing this special event with our community 🌻

We are incredibly excited that .lorimer will be running the marathon in support of Carter’s Sunflowers on Sunday 26th April 2026! Taking on a marathon is an amazing challenge and we are so grateful that Lauren has chosen to support Carter’s Sunflowers while doing it. Every step she runs will help us continue supporting children and families.

What an incredible Christmas Fair!
