Using the right terminology is so important for ensuring our young deaf people accept their deaf identity.

Using the word ‘impaired’ implies that something is broken and that we are trying to ‘fix’ deaf children.

But we want our children & young people to develop a positive deaf identity.🦻🏼🩵🤟🏼

On Saturday we received some very exciting news...
Reverend Canon Glyn Evans our very own Chaplain for the Deaf, was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE). So he will get an MBE medal presented to him by one of the Royal Family later this year.
It is an honour awarded for outstanding service or achievement, often in areas such as public service, charity work, the arts, sport, business, community work, or volunteering.
Glyn has been awarded his MBE for service to the community including of course the Deaf Community.

We want to congratulate Glyn on this special award. Well done, we are all very proud of you!
