It’s not just about learning dance steps or performing a song…It’s about finding a place where they can belong, make friends, build confidence and have fun being themselves!

At BSDC, we want every child to feel supported, encouraged and proud of who they are. Whether they’re naturally confident or a little shy, our classes are a space to grow, make memories and discover what they’re capable of. 💕

And there’s so much more to look forward to, including our showcase in March at Wookey Hole Theatre!

It’s not just about learning dance steps or performing a song. It’s about finding a place where they can belong, make friends, build confidence and have fun being themselves!

✨ Confidence - For the shy child who needs a little encouragement, our classes help them come out of their shell and feel comfortable performing in front of others.

✨ Friendships & community - They’ll meet other children who love performing, creating a supportive little community where they can feel included and make genuine friendships.

✨ A chance to perform - Our dancers and musical theatre students will have the exciting opportunity to perform in our BSDC showcase at Wookey Hole Theatre in March! A memory they’ll be proud of for years to come.

✨ Skills for life - From teamwork and discipline to creativity, self-expression and confidence, the benefits go far beyond the studio.

Behind BSDC & Studio Sofia 💗

Hi, I’m Bruna, the person behind BSDC (Bruna Sofia Dance Company) and Studio Sofia!

What started with a love for dance has grown into something so much bigger than just teaching classes. 🥹

BSDC is about creating a space where children and young people can feel confident, make friends, be themselves and find a community. Whether they dream of performing or simply want to have fun and try something new, I want every student to feel that they belong!

And then there’s Studio Sofia, a space I created with the hope that it could be used for so much more than dance. From classes and workshops to photoshoots, wellbeing sessions, creative projects, meetings and private events, I want the studio to be a place where people can bring their ideas to life.

There is a LOT that goes on behind the scenes…planning classes, creating choreography, organising shows, managing the studio, creating content, answering messages… and probably drinking far too much coffee! 😂☕

But I genuinely love seeing these ideas come to life and watching the people who use these spaces enjoy them.

So, if you’re new here… hello! 👋🏼 I’m Bruna Sofia, and this is my little corner of the world.

This fun and engaging recreational ballet class introduces young dancers to the foundations of classical ballet in a supportive and encouraging environment. Students will learn basic ballet terminology while developing essential technical skills, coordination, posture, and musicality.

Throughout the term, dancers will work towards learning choreographed routines that incorporate the techniques and vocabulary they have developed, helping to build confidence, creativity, performance skills, and a love for ballet.

Mondays | 5:00pm – 6:00pm | Ages 7-14

A high-energy and exciting class for performers who love to sing, dance, and act! Students will explore a variety of musical theatre styles and genres while developing skills across all three disciplines: acting, singing, and dance.

Classes focus on building confidence, stage presence, creativity, and performance technique through engaging warm-ups, vocal exercises, choreography, improvisation, and script work. Throughout the term, students will work towards learning exciting musical theatre routines and scenes, bringing characters and stories to life while developing their performance skills in a fun, supportive environment.
