*** Important Message from Sensei Sherry ***
"This year has proved to be very difficult in many ways, especially for our Karate activities.
I know that many of you have been training diligently at home advancing your technique, and this will stand you in good stead when we return to normal conditions.
Others have been working very hard towards grading examinations and our squad members were hoping to be selected to compete in the European Championships.
At the start of the year, all this seemed possible, but Covid19 came along and dashed many of our hopes and expectations. Nevertheless Karate is about much more than any one thing, it is a martial art that contains numerous other facets and benefits.
It is very important to study Karate analytically and understand your technique in greater and greater depth and detail, be aware of your coordination, develop a spirited and determined attitude, improve your speed through correct muscle control, these, and many other principals, together with rigorous physical training and an intense mental focus are all very important for your overall Karate proficiency.
All of you can advance to your best possible level within your own physical capabilities, this is true progress and will give you a great sense of accomplishment that will go a long way towards achieving a happy, healthy and contented life.
I look forward to seeing you all as soon as possible. Best wishes to you all."

Dear all,
In view of the danger to health caused by the Corona Virus the KUGB Executive Committee has decided to cancel all KUGB organised events until Friday 15th May. This includes the National Championships, the Special Dan Course, all Black and Brown Belt Courses, all Squad Training Courses, the Spring Course in Torbay and the Liverpool Youth Championships.
We will monitor the situation carefully and continue with our programme of activities as soon as Government advice allows us to do so. We expect that you will all follow governmental and medical advice in the management of your Dojo's.
Best wishes to everyone at this difficult time, we will keep you informed of any changes as they arise.
KUGB Executive Committee.
Great session from sensei Sherry and Rhodes, enjoyed immensely by our first Kyus Ned and Jason and Senior grades Sensei Andy, Melissa,James and Nic at Abingdon
We had an excellent turnout in Abingdon today for the Black & Brown Belt Course with Sensei Sherry and Sensei Rhodes. A minutes silence in memory of Sensei Poynton was held at the end of each class.
As a club, we would like to pay our respects to this man Sensei Bob Poynton.
During many years of training, your club instructors and students have trained in sessions with Sensei Bob Poynton however today he passed away.
Many of you will know and have memories of this Sensei regarding his personality, his passion and dedication to the sport. So in honour, as a club, if you have memories or stories of sensei then please leave them in the comment box.

Today, as part of a member of the KUGB England Kata team, Melissa entered the KUGB Grand Slam. This is her first ever competition competing at such high standards with other members from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales and this amazing 13 year old came 4th in the under 18s kata category.
What an achievement. You should be very proud of yourself because I know we all are.
Congratulations from all of us, and we can't wait to see you back in class tomorrow.
Watch this space, this girl is on a mission 👊
