At After School Club this week children have made Christmas crafts and cheese & tomato tarts.
It was lovely to see the Nursery children enjoying the gym equipment this afternoon.
Flapjack making in Stoford required lots of teamwork. They smelt amazing when cooking but one never made it to my office to try?!
It all adds up to a successful challenge! - Around Wellington Pencils and brains were sharpened on Saturday as the Wellington School Maths Challenge once again attracted huge numbers of children. Almost 250 students from 58 primary schools took part in the challenge and enjoyed the competitive spirit. The winner in this hotly contested competition was Milverto...

A massive well done to our Mathletes who came 2nd out of 60 scoring 22/25 points in the Wellington School maths challenge this morning. An incredible achievement! 🥈👏🏻
Well done and thank you to Blackmoor for sharing their UK learning journey with us all in their class assembly this morning. It was lovely to be joined by so many parents.
Last night we took not one but two teams to a dodgeball tournament! No idea how many matches they won but they all had a great time.
Well done to our athletics team who came second and have qualified for the area finals! A team of 12 took part in a range of indoor and outdoor events.🥈

An update of the EYFS outdoor area has seen the creation of a reading den this morning at the request (and help) of the children.

KS1 had and assembly and a workshop this morning from RSPCA West Hatch all about hedgehogs and then got to make one from clay. 🦔

On a chilly evening, our football team are playing really well as a team and supporting each other so well.
This afternoon lots of parents join us for a topic lesson in their child’s class: Science, Music and Geography were all lessons that were showcased.

Huish seeks 2 x 10-13 year olds for College Production
This year Huish are performing ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ for our annual musical which will be held here at Huish on 30th, 31st Jan and 1st, 2nd Feb 2024.
In this production we are looking for a ‘young Bonnie’ and ‘young Clyde’ both aged around 10-13 years old.
Open auditions will be held at the Huish campus on Monday 9th October 5.30-7.00pm in Pine Studios.
Auditionees will be taught a section of song, choreography and script. The accent used in the show is southern American if that helps!

Our tag rugby team were in action again last night.
This year our wonderful Huish catering team are providing lovely hot meals at lunchtime. We have a three week rolling menu with plenty of choice. Orders via your MCAS account no later than midnight on the Tuesday of the week before.
What an amazing showcase of work from across the school all based on The Tree and The River.
Congratulations to our new Prefects! They have positions of responsibility within our school community and are important role models. I look forward to working with them through the year ahead.
Once again this year we are proud to be using the No Outsiders programme to help teach equality, diversity and inclusion.
What a beautiful day to sit and sketch trees with the village. Thank you to all in the community who allowed us to sit and admire their gardens.
