Always one of the highlights of the year! This afternoon, children from IKB and Bright Sparks enjoyed our annual water fight, and it is safe to say there were huge smiles all around. 😊

From the children to the staff(!), everyone threw themselves into the fun and enjoyed this joyful tradition. What a fantastic way to make memories together! 💦

🎶 Take a Bow! 🎶

A huge round of applause 👏👏 to all of our talented young musicians!

After school today, our hall was filled with proud families who came to celebrate our children who are learning to play a musical instrument. We were treated to a wonderful showcase of musical talent, featuring a variety of styles including traditional, jazz, pop and even some original compositions created by our very own pupils. The children performed with confidence, poise and enthusiasm, and truly deserved the fantastic applause they received. We are incredibly proud of every performer and their developing musical skills. A special thank you to our wonderful visiting instrumental teachers from Somerset Music, Miss Scutt and Mr Clarke, who teach piano and guitar respectively. Their encouragement, expertise and support have helped our children to grow in confidence and develop a love of music. Thank you also to Mrs Hitchin, who coordinates music at IKB so wonderfully and makes all of these opportunities possible for our young musicians.

What a fantastic week of live musical opportunities we have enjoyed at IKB!

Last Wednesday, after an action-packed morning of sporting activities, our Year 5 children had the chance to sit back, relax and enjoy a wonderful performance by The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain. The children learned about the different brass instruments and were delighted to hear a range of music including favourites such as 'Blame It on the Boogie' by The Jackson 5 and 'The Bare Necessities'. 🎺🎵

The musical opportunities continued on Friday when we welcomed talented musicians from The Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. They performed an inspiring concert for the whole school, giving our children the opportunity to experience live music up close and learn more about a variety of instruments and classical pieces. 🎻🎹

The children thoroughly enjoyed both performances and were captivated by the skill and passion of the musicians. 🌈
