🌿🎨 Today, RA took their EAD learning outdoors!
The children explored their creativity by creating beautiful artwork inspired by Giuseppe Arcimboldo, using a variety of natural materials they found around them. 🍃🌼
It was wonderful to see their imagination come to life as they carefully arranged leaves, flowers, and other treasures into unique masterpieces.

In djembe this week, our Year 5 pupils have been busy exploring composition: creating, refining and performing their own rhythmic patterns. Here’s a fantastic example of their creativity and teamwork in action!
The children have shown brilliant focus, listening skills and confidence as they’ve experimented with different beats and structures. We’re so proud of their progress 🎵
Y5 are very excited to showcase their drumming at our upcoming Summer Showcase - we can’t wait to share their performance with you! 🌟

All is quiet at the Year 2 sleepover tonight after an evening packed with fun. The children enjoyed parachute games, basketball, creating their own pizzas and making colourful fruit kebabs. We even squeezed in a disco before bedtime. Fun times with all of your friends! 🌈

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Wellington Somerset, your generous donation has already been put to good use in improving the children's playground.
It is with real pleasure the The Rotary Club of Wellington presented a cheque for £250 to Members of IKB Primary school's Pupil Council and we are please to say this donation has already been used to help fund the furniture in the well-used outdoor reading area.
🌊 Happy World Ocean Day! 🌍💙
Today, our children at IKB and Bright Sparks Nursery are diving deep into ocean conservation! The school is a sea of blue and green as we dress up to raise awareness for our beautiful oceans.
Inside the classrooms, they are exploring the complex pros and cons of single-use plastics, culminating in a big debate during assembly later today.
💬 Families: Make sure to ask them all about their arguments and what they learned when they get home tonight! No doubt they will have a lot to share.

Behind the Screens! 🔍
Our Year 5 tech experts had a brilliant computing session today. They dove deep into the digital world to explore how bias and sway can influence internet search engines.
Instead of just taking results at face value, they became digital investigators—running real searches to track and analyse the most commonly occurring website hits. It was eye-opening to see how search engines prioritise what we see!

We practised our lockdown drill today which involved children staying in class when an alarm rang.
We do this each term, so children are prepared and don’t have any worries! ☺️
The children in all year groups were fantastic and responded positively to the practice. We were so proud of them! 😊

A massive thank you to the IKB Friends & Community Group for organising our first-ever inflatables event. The children had an absolute blast and it was the perfect way to kick off a summer of fun!
