Thank you Wellington Weekly 🌈
Another corker of a WOW day today to launch our ‘Jungles’ topic in reception 🌿🦧🐅🌱
A big Somerset Superhero Shout Out is in order for the wonderful Isambard Kingdom Brunel Primary School in Wellington.

Two people got in touch to let us know what an amazing job you've been doing! 👇👇

"We would like to give a huge shout out and thank you to the simply amazing team at IKB school in Wellington. We can't thank headteacher Mr Richard Healey and his team enough for their tireless efforts to ensure our children have the very best education academically/emotionally and physically during this very difficult time.

You have all gone above and beyond finding ways around every obstacle that has come your way since opening last September. Even down to ensuring the children's dance class that would have been cancelled due to Covid restrictions went ahead with the amazing efforts of Miss Evans allowing the children to have a fun activity in these times where everything else has been cancelled.

You have built an amazing school community in such a short space of time and the children's progress and love for school is testament to that. Thank you so much!"

Hiya, my daughter accidentally brought this home yesterday. Just message me if these are yours, and we will give you our address. Or we can bring it on 24th. Thanks
Is it school photos tomorrow !

As 2022 comes to a close and we reflect upon the year, above all other successes, we are immensely proud of how we have lived our three core values as a school:

Every child belongs
Every child participates
Every child achieves.

We have never felt so much like the school for our community that we set out to become when we first began this journey. Through our curriculum, through seizing partnership opportunities and through our young pioneers who take their knowledge and learning out into the world, demonstrating positivity, responsibility, respect and resilience. We love our IKB🌈 and Wellington communities and we cannot wait to further strengthen our links between them in 2023.

Have a fun, energising and safe break and we will look forward to seeing you all in the new year. Thank you for your continued trust and support.

Merry Xmas,

Mr Healey

Year 2 were at Wellington Baptist Church this morning supporting the Wellington Refuge project. Our children’s songs, warmth and kindness raised spirits throughout 🌈

Year 1 enjoying their trip to the Taachi Morris theatre this afternoon to enjoy the Sleeping Beauty pantomime 🌈

A difficult watch but an important watch for all parents/ carers.

‘I Am Ruth’ was conceived as a story for our times about the endemic mental health crisis affecting young people.

The film offers an honest and authentic portrayal of a mother who witnesses her teenage daughter retreating into herself as she becomes more and more consumed by the pressures of social media.

This term our PSHE learning is all about ‘Celebrating Differences’. Our Reception class have been celebrating individual and family differences in recent weeks and today they were finding out about differences in where people live. Our 10 minute task saw them using class resources and working collaboratively to create homes for classroom characters. Excellent teamwork and decision making displayed 🌈
