We are incredibly proud to celebrate a major milestone for Changing Lives Through Horses - 5,000 young people supported through the programme.
Every one of these participants represents a story of growth, confidence, and connection made possible through the power of horses and the dedication of our amazing Accredited Professional Coaches and Approved Centres.
Today, we’re shining a spotlight on Rise Wild, a BHS Approved Centre offering specialist education and community‑based learning, and on Claire Holt, an experienced Senior Event Coach APC and active CLTH trainer whose passion makes an enormous difference.

🌾 A Brilliant Day at the Farm! 🐄🐑

Yesterday our KS2/3 students had an unforgettable visit to a local farm as part of their course. They were thrilled to meet the newborn calves and lambs, lend a hand with feeding time, and discover how the animals are cared for each day.

They learnt about the lambs that needed to be fostered and even had the chance to hold and feed some of them. Students explored the different breeds of calf on the farm and were fascinated by the giant hoover used to keep the floors clean. A behind‑the‑scenes look at the milk parlour gave them an even deeper understanding of daily farm operations.

It was a fantastic opportunity for hands-on learning, building confidence, and deepening their understanding of animal welfare and life on the farm.
We extend our sincere thanks to the farm staff for their warm welcome and for providing such a valuable educational experience for our students.

🐰 Hands-On Learning in Action! 🌿
Yesterday our KS4 Land-Based students completed a brilliant practical project as part of their Gateway unit — designing and building a hay rack for our rabbits!

From sketching out ideas to selecting materials and using a variety of tools, the students demonstrated fantastic creativity, teamwork, and practical skills. The final result looks amazing… and our rabbits are very grateful for their new addition! 🐇💚

Our KS4 Land-Based Gateway qualification runs over three days and gives learners the chance to explore a range of topics including:
🌱 Soil health & preparation
🪵 Woodwork & construction
🌼 Planting
🌿 Foraging
🦺 Health & safety

We’re incredibly proud of their hard work and the real-world skills they’re developing each week. Well done, everyone! 🌟

RISE WILD offers a different kind of learning environment for young people who feel more at ease outdoors. The space gives learners room to regulate, explore and build confidence through hands-on activities, gentle routines and the natural calm that comes with being outside.

For many young people with SEND, this setting removes the pressure of traditional classrooms and replaces it with opportunities to grow at their own pace. We see meaningful shifts happen here, the kind that show what’s possible when the environment truly fits the learner.

🐴🏥 Today our Haddon Equine students visited Rossdales Hospital in Newmarket!
Students gained an invaluable behind-the-scenes insight into how horses are diagnosed with a range of illnesses — from initial investigations through to exploring the advanced diagnostic equipment and technology used by veterinary professionals to accurately identify potential issues.
A fantastic learning experience and a great opportunity to see equine veterinary science in action! ✨
