WRENN SCHOOL CELEBRATES RECORD BREAKING GCSE RESULTS AS MORE STUDENTS SECURE TOP GRADES

++ Record number of Year 11 students to stay at Wrenn for sixth form ++

Students and staff at Wrenn School are celebrating a record-breaking set of provisional GCSE results, with students achieving high levels of success, securing the grades needed for their next steps in education, training and future careers.

Provisional results show the school’s strongest outcomes in recent years, including a rise of more than 16 percent in the proportion of students achieving strong passes at grade 5 or above in both English and Maths, equating to nearly half of the cohort.

The results mark an important milestone for Wrenn, reflecting the determination of students, the support of families and the school’s continued focus on ambition, excellence and care for all.

This year's record-breaking GCSE results have opened doors for students across Wrenn School, with unprecedented numbers choosing to remain with Wrenn in Sixth Form.

Earlier this academic year, the school was named Secondary School of the Year at the Northamptonshire Education Awards and increased its Year 7 capacity to accommodate growing demand as a first-choice secondary school in the local area.

Among the students celebrating outstanding results was Lakshana Rajanish Raj achieved four grade 9s, one grade 8, one grade 7 and two Level 2 Distinction* grades.

Martha Amponsah, who achieved five grade 9s, one grade 8, two grade 7s and one grade 6, whilst Sennen Aldwinckle-Carr achieved three grade 9s, four grade 8s, one grade 7 and one Level 2 Distinction*.

These results reflect Wrenn School's unwavering commitment to excellence, where academic achievement sits alongside the development of character, resilience and a strong sense of belonging.

Leaders of the school are proud of what their students have accomplished and grateful to the dedicated staff whose passion and commitment make such success possible.

Laura Parker, Principal of Wrenn School, said:

“Congratulations to our Year 11 students on a brilliant set of GCSE results.

“We are especially proud to see more students securing the grades they need to access the next stage of their education, training and future careers. These results represent real progress for our young people and reflect the determination of our students, the expertise of our staff and the support of families.

“What makes me especially proud is the way this year group has embraced the opportunities available to them and worked together to achieve their goals. Wrenn is a school built on ambition, high expectations and strong relationships, and these results reflect the exceptional progress that is being made across our school community.

“We are excited to see what our students go on to achieve and wish them every success in their next steps.”

''Together, staff, students and families, we remain firmly .''

Nicole McCartney, CEO of Creative Education Trust, said:

“These provisional results are a real credit to the students and staff at Wrenn School. It is especially pleasing to see more young people securing the grades that will help them move confidently into sixth form, college, apprenticeships and future careers.

“Results day is an important moment, but it is also part of a much bigger journey. These students have shown ambition, resilience and commitment throughout their time at Wrenn, and they should be very proud of what they have achieved.

“My thanks go to the staff and families who have supported them along the way. We wish every student the very best as they take their next step.”

As the school celebrates this year's success, Wrenn School is also looking ahead to welcoming its next cohort of students. Families with children due to start secondary school in September 2027 are invited to attend the school's Year 6 Open Evenings on Wednesday 30 September and Thursday 1 October, from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. No booking is required.
