From a child’s first experience of learning an instrument in Year 2 to studying Music at A Level, music is an integral part of life at Wellingborough School. Through specialist teaching, individual tuition in more than 25 instruments and a wide range of ensembles, we provide a musical journey that nurtures confidence and talent at every stage. 🎵

Whether performing in choirs, string quartets, or showcasing their talents at events such as the Spring Concert, pupils are encouraged to develop a lifelong love of music.

Pre-season rugby is underway! 🏉

Despite some wet weather, there has been plenty of hard work going on with cardio work and gameplay play to ensure we are fighting fit for the start of the season.

From Prep School productions and LAMDA lessons to Senior School performances and theatre workshops, at Wellingborough School pupils are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones and discover a love of theatre. 🎭

Whether performing on stage, designing sets, managing lighting and sound, or working behind the scenes, there are opportunities for every pupil to play a part. Our pupils also benefit from theatre trips and workshops with professional performers, gaining valuable insight into the world of drama and the creative industries.

A highlight of the programme is the opportunity to perform at the Castle Theatre, giving pupils the chance to showcase their talents in a professional setting while building confidence, communication skills and lasting friendships.

Our Estates Team has recently completed four bespoke bag storage units and a set of coat pegs for the Gateway Building. Handcrafted by Lee from Estates, the pieces were created using recycled oak from leftover window boards and skirting from the Gateway build.

Working closely with our Estates Bursar, Lee transformed an initial vision into a practical design, carefully repurposing the available materials to create something functional for our new building.

Lee said, "I love producing bespoke pieces because they evolve as you build them, and although I had to make some slight changes to the original concept, we were more than happy with the results. It's great knowing I've produced furniture that the pupils and staff will benefit from, and by being able to reuse and recycle the oak, it's very satisfying."

A fantastic example of sustainability and skilled craftsmanship in action. 👏

As the excitement of A Level and GCSE Results Days comes to a close, we have loved celebrating the achievements of our pupils. ✨

Over the last two weeks, we have seen our pupils rewarded for their hard work and dedication. Whether they are continuing their education at university, pursuing apprenticeships, entering the world of work, or joining our Sixth Form, we are so excited to see what the future holds for them.
