What a year it has been for St Andrew’s!

In this academic year, we welcomed lots of new members to our school family, including new colleagues from across our Trust. We went on some incredible school trips and visits, competed in multiple sporting events and leagues, won the school games gold award and had our first colour run.

Forest schools was reintroduced and we have now got a thriving eco council who organised a fabulous eco week. Our school council continued in their work of making break and lunch time more fun - there are some very exciting plans for next year …

Mr Wainford won an award for his work with LAC and SEND. We also had a very successful SIAMs inspection where our pastoral provision was considered a “significant strength” of the school and our vision was commended in how obvious and embedded it is in everything the school does.

All of these things fill us with pride in our community and we cannot wait to see what triumphs are in store for St Andrew’s next year! To all of the St Andrew’s family, have a restful and blessed summer break and we will see you in September.

We are very very proud of our Year 6 children who enjoyed their last day with us today. They have made so much progress personally and academically and they have exemplified our vision, ‘Let all that you do be done in Love.’

We wish our year 6s a blessed and joy-filled summer and the best of luck as they start their next adventure in secondary school.

We are so proud of every single child in the school today!

What a fantastic Sports Day we had! Thank you so much to all parents and carers who came to the event and to all the children for putting in all that effort on a very warm day.

A special shout out goes to the parents who competed in the parent race, the teachers who had a go at the teachers race and to our very young friends, who are not yet even at school, who were very brave and had a go too!

I am sure everyone will join us in saying a HUGE THANK YOU to Mr Tattersall who organised the whole event - it was absolutely brilliant! Thank you also to the Year 6 helpers who supported KS1 for the morning.

Have a great weekend everybody and we shall see you on Monday!

Miss Robertson and Mr Wainford went to a Champions of Change awards ceremony last night, where Mr Wainford won the education category for his work with SEND and Children in Care.

The event was hosted by Phoenix Community Care who are a UK based charity who provide foster care placements as well as other crucial support for vulnerable children, adults and refugees.

We are very proud of our amazing SENCO and all his work, rooted in our vision, ‘Let all that you do be done in Love.’

An Unexpected Visitor in the EYFS Classroom! 👀✨

As part of their work on Ruby’s Worry, EYFS received a very special letter from a little character called Worry. He has come to stay with them for the next few weeks, and the children have been absolutely fantastic at helping him feel calm, safe, and happy.
However… at lunchtime, something unexpected happened! A big blue monster appeared, looking for Worry!
This led to some wonderful discussions in class. The children thought carefully about:

Whether the monster might be his dad or friend
How he might be feeling
How we could show that we are just keeping Worry for a little bit

Using their amazing problem-solving skills, the children worked together to design and build a variety of traps, just in case the monster decides to return! Some children wrote letters and made pictures showing that we would look after him.

It has been fantastic to see them so excited and their imagination, teamwork, and empathy in action. We’re excited to see what happens next with Worry’s visit…

Year 6 had a wonderful time at the Tower of London today. They were complimented on their historical knowledge and their impeccable behaviour. So much so, one of the Yeoman Guards took the time to ask for the school address so that he could write and celebrate the class.

Miss Robertson and Miss Devlin were very proud of their class - well done Year 6!

We also took part in a Pro Strike event. All of the children (and staff) had a go, seeing how quickly and accurately they could score goals! We had some very impressive kick speeds.

What is even more impressive is how much fundraising we achieved with an impressive sponsorship of nearly £1500!

Great job everyone - we had an absolute blast!
