Our little explorers have loved discovering pirates, mermaids, and life under the sea. 🏴‍☠️🧜‍♀️🌊

With the hot weather, we have been keeping cool with plenty of water play and have been very appreciative of the air conditioning in our rooms! ❄️🧊❄️

Our preschool leavers have been spending extra time in their new Reception classroom, getting to know their teacher to prepare for a smooth transition in September.
To celebrate their journey with us, we held a special graduation picnic alongside their families. 🧁🎓🌟

We are so proud of all our children and everything they have achieved this year! 💙

Our children have loved bringing the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ to life! 📚🐻 🐾
From a barefoot sensory walk and a teddy bear's picnic to learning about woodland animals, it has been lovely to see them growing in confidence as they retell the story to their friends. 🦉🐿🦌

We also had a fantastic Sports Day! 🏅 We are so proud of our little superstars for their determination and enthusiasm. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️⭐

Here at Stepping Stones Pre-School at Weedon Bec Primary School, we champion learning through play in our child-centred, nurturing environment. What may look like “just play” to the untrained eye is often where the most valuable learning takes place.

The painting, construction, loose parts, role-play, and endless curiosity all serve a purpose.
Through play, creativity flourishes, skills develop, confidence grows, and children learn best. 🎨

🐄 Stepping Stones and the Reception children had a wonderful morning at Flore Farm Park last week! 🐑

There were lots of smiles and happy faces as they enjoyed learning all about life on the farm. Feeding the animals was definitely a favourite activity, along with exploring the fabulous outdoor play areas. 🍼🪣🛝

It was a fantastic hands-on experience filled with lots of fun, learning, and plenty of fresh air! 🐐🚜💚

A robin chose to make her nest in our preschool garden, and what an incredible journey it has been 🪹♥️

From the early days of nest-building, to patiently watching over her eggs, and now seeing the tiny chicks grow and change each day — it’s been a truly special experience for everyone! 🐣

Our little nature helpers have been amazing. They’ve carefully put out mealworms, learnt to respect her space, and understand how important it is to stay calm and quiet around the nest. We couldn’t be prouder of how thoughtful and gentle they have been.

Moments like these bring learning to life, helping children build a genuine connection with nature and understand how to care for the world around them. 💚

On 🌟World Book Day (UK & Ireland)🌟 we celebrated the joy of storytelling, the power of imagination, and the magical worlds that books open up for our children. 📖✨💛

At our preschool, stories don’t just stay on the page — they come to life! Through role play, props, and creative arts and crafts, our children explore their favourite books in fun and imaginative ways.

These experiences help our little learners develop language, imagination, and creativity — while nurturing a lifelong love of reading. 📖📚💛

🌏✈️ This term, we have been flying high around Asia, and our last stop was the colourful world of China! 🛬🇨🇳

We sampled delicious traditional food, and got creative through crafts, music, and movement. 🏮🐲🍜
