The stage is set and the band warmed up for our KS3 Awards Afternoon Tea!
We can’t wait to celebrate the achievements of year 7, 8 and 9 this afternoon.
Two of our cadets from the academy's Royal Marines Cadet Combined Cadet Force Contingent - Alfie Yr11 and Mihnea Yr10 have returned from 8 days away training with the Royal Marines at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines, Lympstone, Devon. The pupils were able to mix with recruits that are undergoing training as well as trained ranks where they were able to ask questions on life in the Royal Marines.
Working alongside 40 other pupils from schools around the UK they took part in a variety of activities including first aid training, rock climbing and abseiling, sailing and powerboating, target shooting as well as a range of military skills that took them onto Dartmoor to sleep under shelters and culminated in a dawn raid on a disused fort that required a 0445 wake up !!!
They have both enjoyed the training that much they have already made plans to attend the advanced training next year"
