Kenjutsu Sparring Club is a good fighter and a good friend to MMFC, bringing Birmingham some sword arts from the other side

Rounded out the year with traditional Bag of Death random sparring, featuring your classic swords, daggers, shields and spears alongside such elegant weapons from a more civilised age as the mangual flail, the walking stick, "friend with a sack", the rock-inna-sock and the mighty wooden spoon!

See you in the new year!

Merry Christmas!

Another great day sparring at the West Midlands HEMA Alliance Sunday Sparring day. We all had a great time with our friends from Mercian Medieval Fight Club, Coventry Longpoint and School of Historical Combat.

So with all that wonderful sparring, why do we get a photo of three, very tired, very sweaty Longpointers? Well that's all we had time to take. At these sessions everyone packs in 110% of their time and this is what we had left! No amount of sepia was going to bring us back from that.

On a personal note I can not say how supportive to learning and growth these sessions are to us as a club and martial artists. These cross club sparring days are a real triumph in learning and development, where we have a place to test our learning against new opponents. The cross club feedback and camaraderie is something that we should all be proud of in our extended West Midlands HEMA Alliance family.
