The Community Hub closes on Friday 31 October.

Thank you once again to the staff, volunteers, and community members who helped bring to life this community space in Wednesbury, and to everyone who has joined us over the last seven years.

We will continue to offer face-to-face support to customers across all our communities, helping those most in need with responsive and region-wide support.

This page will be closing on 31 October.

Community Hub Update: Evolving to Serve Everyone, Everywhere

For over seven years, our South Staffs Water Community Hub has been a place of connection, support, and care - particularly for residents in and around Wednesbury. We are incredibly proud of the impact it has had and deeply grateful to everyone who helped make it a trusted and welcoming space.

We recently updated our Vulnerable Customer Strategy, to guide how we evolve our services to meet the changing needs of those who rely on us most. Rather than focusing support in one location, we are looking at ways to extend our services right across our region through home visits, digital tools and targeted outreach. This will allow us to reach more people, more effectively.

Following a careful review, we have taken the difficult decision to close our Community Hub later this year. While we are proud of the positive difference the Hub has made – particularly in its early years – usage has significantly declined in recent times. To ensure our investment delivers the greatest benefit across all our communities, we need to focus on more responsive, region-wide support.

Moving forward, our mobile Community Engagement Officers will take support directly into the heart of our communities – delivering tailored advice and assistance without the limitations of a single, static location. We remain fully committed to supporting those who need us most, and we believe this new approach will allow us to do that more effectively, right across our region.

Thank you to our staff, volunteers, and community members who have made the Hub a place of connection. Your compassion and commitment continue to inspire how we move forward.

We continue to be available in the community to provide personalised care and to offer home visits. These can be arranged by contacting us on 0345 60 70 456.

The hub will close its doors on Friday 31st October 2025.

We're supporting West Bromwich Pet Pantry, a group of hard-working volunteers who are dedicated to providing pet food to individuals and families who are experiencing financial hardship 🐾

If you'd like to get involved, visit us in the Community Hub with your donations. We're open from Monday to Wednesday from 10:00 to 13.00 and 13.30 to 16.00 and Friday from 10:00 to 13.00 and 13.30 to 16.00.

On Mondays, we hold our knit and natter group with Arts and Crafts Community Wednesbury Uk, from 09:30 to 12:30 🧶

If you're working on any crafts, why not pop down to the Community Hub? Everyone is welcome to attend and show off their skills!

There's one month left before our School Uniform Swap ends for the year! 👚

This is your reminder to donate any unwanted but clean and undamaged uniform. From jumpers to trousers, bring them to us and we'll accept them.

If you'd like to collect free uniform, visit us during our opening hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, from 10:00 to 13.00 and 13.30 to 16.00 🫶

And that's not all, to support our beloved community, we are accepting school uniform donations/collections and pet pantry donations.

You can donate school uniform and/or pet food or collect school uniform during our opening hours - Monday to Wednesday from 10:00 to 13:00 and 13:30 to 16:00 and Friday from 10:00 to 13:00 and 13:30 to 16:00.

Join us at the Community Hub tomorrow for our children's session on how to become a water saver!💧

Our very own Education Officer, Maria Cole, will be running the session where she'll talk about water efficiency and how we can all be water efficient. Get creative and make your very own water butt (please bring an empty milk bottle) to take home🏠

The session will be held between 11:00 to 13:00 and 13:30 to 15:00, we can't wait to have you join us.
