Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared our fundraising post so far - we have made a great start to our fund raising. The support from the community, staff, parents and children has been amazing. No matter how small your donation is, it will most definitely help a great cause.

You've seen them wet... now see them bald!
We need your help!
Mr Hill and Mr Yalluri have both agreed to have their heads shaved - brave the shave - in order to raise money for a very special person who is part of our school family. N Kaur has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment. In order to make things a little easier for the family during this difficult time, Mr Hill and Mr Yalluri have decided to copy her haircut and hopefully raise some money for a good cause!
Please donate whatever you can - every penny will help support a wonderful cause!

Good afternoon
Historically at Tameside, the Academy has supported a very special local charity called Libby Mae's Little Angels. This small local charity supports neonatal units with equipment for babies who are born prematurely or to help support families who's babies are born but soon gain their angel wings not long after birth. Further information about the charity is available here
https://www.libbymaeslittleangels.com/home.aspx
Next week, Mr Hale is climbing Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa in Welsh) to help raise money for this amazing charity. He has a JustGiving page where anyone can help donate what little money is available to help support this wonderful charity. Any donation whatever the size will be so gratefully received and will help support families and children.

Thank you in advance for your support

Last week, Year 6 had the opportunity to participate in MoneySense Workshops organised by NatWest Bank, as part of their ongoing personal development and preparation for secondary school. These workshops offer volunteering opportunities to bank employees to contribute positively to the community, while providing schools with valuable real-life expertise for the students. During the workshop titled 'Fraud Investigators', Year 6 students engaged in solving a simulated fraud case involving identity theft. By analysing exhibits, witness statements and bank records, the children discovered how the fraud occurred through an online profile post, reinforcing the importance of online safety. The sessions were well-received by the students, enhancing their understanding of responsible money management, personal security and the significance of financial literacy. Thank you to everyone involved

Last week saw the completion of the season for both our Boys and Girls Academy football teams. Both squads performed admirably and showed an immense level of integrity, perseverance and courage throughout the season. The self proclaimed 'Highlighters' (please see the photos and you can why they called themselves this!) really were ambassadors for our school and a credit to us and their families. The highlight of the season was a hard fought 1-0 win on home soil last week for the girls. Thank you to the teams for their dedication; the parents for their support and to the staff at school for making a great season happen for our children.
We go again next year!

Year 4, as part of our superb E3L curriculum, enjoyed a Viking day in school. Throughout the day provided by our wonderful visitors, the children learnt about how the Vikings made food and clothes, what they brought to our country and how they changed the way that we live. Take a look at what we learnt about.

As part of our drive on careers and personal development, we had a visit from Medical Mavericks. Children got a chance to draw blood from 'Andy', take their own blood pressure, use ultrasound equipment, perform key hole surgery and take an ECG! Parents came into school too to take part and learn about jobs that are available in the health care sector. Thank you to everyone who took part.

Congratulations to our Diana Anti-Bullying Award Ambassadors! 🌟

We had the pleasure of attending this annual training which was great to attend along with other local schools.

In this programme, pupils received training to become Anti-Bullying Ambassadors for their schools, learn the skills and knowledge to confidently support their peers and challenge attitudes towards bullying.

Thank you to everyone who took part and to those who supported us. Wear your badges with pride!

We know that tomorrow is World Book Day (and that we have been doing lots of exciting things with the children and still have some great things to do tomorrow) but we do also have a parent book library too that is free for all parents to use. The library is located in the main reception area.

At Tameside Primary Academy, we celebrated Children's Mental Health Week on the topic of 'Express Yourself'. The children made expressive masks to show off their skills and personalities and also took part in a non uniform day to show their individuality. Thank you to everyone who helped to organise this event and to all who took part.
Please also be reminded that we have our own dedicated mental health and well being page on our website that can support both children and families alike.
