🌟🩺 Hopes, Dreams & Inspirational People! 🩺🌟

Last week, we were so lucky to welcome Mr Chowdhury, our very own doctor, into Reception! 👨‍⚕️💙

He talked to us about the importance of staying healthy, looking after our bodies and how he helps people in our community. 🍎💧🏃‍♀️ He also inspired us to think about our own hopes and dreams and all the amazing things we could achieve in the future! 🌈✨

We feel incredibly lucky to have such inspirational people in our school community who can share their experiences and encourage us to dream big! 💫💕

🤔 Can you guess the special link Mr Chowdhury has to our Reception class? 👀

That’s right… Mrs Chowdhury is his very proud mum! 🥰💖 And we are all so proud and grateful that he came to inspire us today!

A huge thank you to Mr Chowdhury for spending time with us and showing us that with hard work, kindness and determination, we can all follow our dreams! 🌟👏💙

This term we have been learning about the people who help us and thinking about our hopes and dreams. ✨

Mr Hill visited Reception this morning to talk to us about how he helps us and supports our school. He shared his own story with the children, telling us about a dream he had when he was a young boy and how he worked hard to achieve it. 🏫

Mr Hill came to Tameside, lived in the local area, and has now achieved his dream of becoming an Executive Principal! ✏️

Wow! The children were incredibly inspired by his story and loved hearing about his journey. It was a wonderful reminder that with hard work, determination and belief in ourselves, our dreams really can become a reality. 👏🏽🌟

Just your average afternoon at Tameside...

A cricket coach from Staffordshire CC enriching our Year 5 PE curriculum... some art work in Year 6 studying The Son of Man famous artwork.... A visit from our PCSO teaching the children about crime scenes and fingerprints as part of our theme - Forensic... And some uses of technology in researching famous composers...
It's great to have so much curriculum enrichment going on in the space of a corridor!

Good morning

Future of Friar Park update!

Last week, children of Year 5 and 6 had a session with me, giving their opinions on the local area and discussing issues that are important to them. They were amazing! Their feedback will be presented to the Future of Friar Park board at the next meeting. Their feedback will be invaluable in supporting community based decision making.

We do need some further help from our community to extend this important 'young voice' that will help us shape how we spend up to £20 million in the future. We are seeking someone aged between 16-19 to help the board with its decision making.

Please see the link below if you know anyone who can help

We’re pleased to share that our Academy has achieved the Inclusive Attendance Bronze Award, recognising the progress made during the first year of the Trust-wide Inclusive Attendance programme.

The award recognises the work taking place across our school community to strengthen attendance practice, understand the reasons behind absence and identify barriers earlier so that pupils and families can receive the right support.

As part of the programme, Academy leaders and attendance teams have been developing a shared understanding of attendance and looking at how everyone across the school community can play a role in supporting positive attendance.

The work was celebrated at the Trust’s Inclusive Attendance Conference at the new Shireland Training Centre in Oldbury. Colleagues came together to review national attendance data, consider emerging trends and reflect on the next steps in developing their practice.

Regular attendance gives children and young people access to learning, relationships and the wider experiences of school life. The Bronze Award recognises the foundations we have established, and we’ll continue to build on this work as we progress towards the Silver Award.
