🖤 October is Black History Month 🖤

This year's theme is "Honouring Our Communities".

Throughout the month, children will be learning about inspiring individuals who make a positive difference to the people around them, exploring the question: "How does this person make their community better, and how?"

We look forward to celebrating and sharing their learning with you.

Yesterday KS1 and KS2 had Steve visit to carry out a Road Safety assembly, getting the children to think about how we need to stop, look, listen and think.

Do you or someone you know have a child starting school in September 2027?
Our open day is the perfect opportunity to visit our school and ask all the questions you may have as well as seeing what school is really like with children there. We are holding a tour on the 8th October 10-11am, suitable for parents and carers.

💛 Stronger Together 💛

We are delighted to support the launch of our Parent Support Group 2026-27, led by one of our wonderful school parents, Dawn.

This friendly and welcoming group is open to all parents and carers, whether your child has additional needs, is on the SEND register, has an EHCP, or you would simply value connecting with other families in a supportive community.

The group aims to provide a safe space to chat, share experiences, offer encouragement and build connections with others who understand the joys and challenges of parenting.

🍽️ We're delighted to celebrate the start of our new catering contract and would like to say a huge thank you to Liz and Rachael for all their hard work this week.

Providing delicious, freshly-made meals every day, they have already made a fantastic start in keeping our children well-fed and happy at lunchtime. We are so grateful for their dedication, enthusiasm, and care.

Thank you, Liz and Rachael, for everything you've done this week. We're looking forward to a successful year ahead! 👏😊

🌟 A warm welcome to our new CEO, Jayne Keller!

We’re delighted to welcome Jayne Keller to Wessex Learning Trust as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Jayne brings extensive experience across the education system, having worked as a headteacher, executive headteacher, system leader and Ofsted team inspector. Most recently Director of Education at Education South West, she has worked with schools and leaders to strengthen curriculum, inclusion, leadership and long-term school improvement.

As Jayne begins her new role, her focus is clear: collaboration, inclusion and sustained improvement, building on the strong foundations across our Trust and creating the conditions in which every child and young person can thrive.

We’re excited for the next chapter of Wessex Learning Trust and look forward to working with Jayne, our schools, colleagues and communities to turn ambition into meaningful, lasting impact for our young people.
