Thank you Well's Literacy Festival for the great Author visit last week and books for each of the children.
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were luckily enough to have a visit from Author and Poet Sean Taylor.
Sean taught us some of his songs and poems, as well as working with each class to create their own families poem.
What a great opportunity to end the academic year, ready to inspire children for the summer reading challenge, as we head off into the summer holidays.

This week we had a special visit from our CEO Mr Gavin Ball.
Robin class had been busy drawing and making a book of ideas of what Mr Ball might like to do during his retirement, this included ideas such as climbing a mountain, having a cup of coffee, building a robot and mowing the lawn.
We shared it together, and learnt about what he has achieved during his time as CEO of The Wessex Learning Trust. Mr Ball also shared some of his retirement plans with us too.
Thank you Mr Ball for all your hard work and dedication to Education and The Wessex Learning Trust Schools during your career. We wish you all the best and a happy retirement!
From all at Wedmore First School.

We often receive lovely feedback when we’re out and about with our students at Wedmore First School, but this message truly stood out as a proud moment for us all.
The school recently received a wonderful email praising our Year 4 pupils, and it’s something we just had to share with our community.
Owl Class, we are immensely proud of each and every one of you. You represent our school with such positivity, kindness, and maturity. Keep shining! ❤️

Improving our Reception learning environment 🌿
We are pleased to share that over the Easter period, the Reception barn roof was fully replaced following several unsuccessful repair attempts. As part of the works, the insulation was also significantly upgraded.
This important investment means our youngest pupils will benefit from a warmer, drier, and more comfortable learning environment, supporting their wellbeing and helping them to thrive.
We are proud to be part of the Wessex Learning Trust and grateful for the continued support that helps us improve our facilities for the benefit of our children.
