DDP Fridays, the best kind of Friday's and last week we were focusing on the P in PACE - playfulness!

❤️ Protect me - I come to you full of fear. Let me know I am safe
💙 Calm me - I see danger everywhere. Show me how to relax
💜 Play with me - I don't know how to have fun.
Show me, in your enjoyment of me.
Now I can look to the future with hope.

The group considered the different play personalities and signed up to the play tribe that spoke to them 👍

We created, we danced, we signed, we banged our drums.

We played.

Today, 18th June is Autistic Pride Day and this year we are celebrating and recognising that "All Brains are Beautiful" 🧠💪

Autistic Pride Day is an important day in the calendar so we spread the word on;

🧡Empowering autistic people to embrace their authentic selves.
🩵Challenging societal attitudes and stereotypes about autism.
💜Highlighting that autistic individuals have always been an essential part of human society.

So a happy Autistic Pride Day to all and let's use today to reflect, discuss and celebrate our young people, our colleagues, friends and family and all of their beautiful brains.

📍 CIPD Festival of Work

We were delighted to see Jennifer McArthur Assoc CIPD representing our team last week at the CIPD Festival of Work, one of the UK's leading events for HR and people, exploring the latest developments, ideas and innovations shaping the future of HR and the workplace.

Investing in learning and development helps us continue providing the highest quality support for our colleagues, and young people. We look forward to bringing these insights back to our teams.

Did you know that The Lodge doesn't only provide crisis and assessment stays for children and young people, they also help with short stays for little sheep!

We currently have Boris, Rose, Polly and Primrose staying with us as they grow big and strong. 💪

We're sure you will agree they are absolutely adorable and have certainly been enjoying exploring their surroundings and meeting new friends.

Always a pleasure to show others the important work we are doing to have a positive impact on the lives of children and young people.

Super proud of our grown ups and young people braving the weather to get muddy in their race 4 life this morning! This year, not only do we have a group raising money and racing but also a young person and their grown up volunteering to support the wider event.
