YOUR ANSWERS WILL SHAPE WHAT COMES NEXT. 🎤

I’ll be reviewing the Voice Loft group-interest responses.

If you have been meaning to tell me that your young singer might be interested, please complete the form now so I can include your preferences.

This is not an application and it does not commit you to booking. It is simply your chance to help me work out what a genuinely useful group should look like.

I would still appreciate any shares that could help anyone who may be interested in The Voice Loft group sessions!!!

Sunday singing question 🎶

What's the thing that stops you singing out loud in front of others?

A. Worrying about hitting wrong notes 😣
B. Feeling self-conscious 🫣
C. Not knowing what to sing 🤔
D. An old comment that stuck 😢

There's no wrong answer — and honestly, every one of these gets easier with the right kind of support. Which one's yours?

A little about how The Voice Loft works 🎤

No judgement.

Lessons are one-to-one and built entirely around the singer in the room — whether that's a child finding their confidence, a teenager working towards something, or an adult finally doing the thing they always meant to.

Some people come to perform. Some come just for the joy of it. Both are completely valid ✨

If that sounds like the kind of space you'd feel comfortable in, I'd love to hear from you.

Vocal tip of the Week

🎤 The breath you can't hear is the one that's working 🤫

A lot of singers take a big, noisy gasp before a line, shoulders up around their ears. It feels powerful but it actually works against you.

Try this instead: breathe in low and silently, like you're quietly smelling something lovely. Let your tummy move, not your shoulders. Then sing on the way out, slow and steady.

A calm, low, silent breath gives you more control, steadier notes and longer phrases. Small change, big difference.

🎤 WHAT WOULD YOUR YOUNG SINGER MOST LOVE TO DEVELOP?

Every singer is different, so I want the possible Voice Loft groups to reflect what young people and families genuinely want.

Would they be most excited by:

🎤 Vocal technique and healthy singing
🎶 Harmonies and ensemble singing
⭐ Confidence and performance skills
🎭 Musical theatre, stagecraft or microphone skills
❤️ Singing with others and making musical friendships

Tell me in the comments — or choose as many as you like in the short interest form.

There is no obligation to book. Your answers will help me design a group that local young singers would genuinely attend.

I would really appreciate any shares that will help people who may be interested to have their say too!

PERFORMANCE, SKILLS — OR SIMPLY THE JOY OF SINGING? 🎤

Not every young singer wants exactly the same thing. Some would love showcases and stage opportunities. Some want to build technique and confidence. Others may simply want a welcoming place to sing with people their own age.

A Voice Loft group could be shaped around the balance families actually want:

⭐ Optional showcases
🎤 Performance preparation
🎶 Technique, harmonies and musicianship
❤️ Relaxed social singing and confidence building

Which balance would suit your young singer best? Tell me below, then add your preferences to the interest form so I can include them when I look at the results.

🎤 COULD THIS BE SOMETHING YOUR YOUNG SINGER WOULD LOVE?

I’m exploring the idea of supportive group singing opportunities at The Voice Loft — but I want local young singers and families to help shape what it becomes.

The idea could include vocal technique, harmonies, confidence, performance skills, and the chance to sing with other young people who genuinely love music 🎵

If this might interest your family, please complete the very short form and tell me the ages, days, times and content that would actually work for you. There is no obligation to book.

I would also really appreciate anyone sharing this with parents, guardians, families, schools, youth groups or anyone who might be interested and want to have their say. ❤️🎤

Singing myth 🎤
“You can either sing or you can't.”

It's one of the most damaging things people believe about their own voice — and it isn't true ❌

Singing is a coordination of breath, muscle and listening, and all three can be trained. What often looks like “natural talent” is usually more practice, or simply being encouraged instead of told to be quiet 👏

If you were ever told you “couldn't sing”, I'd gently ask you to put that down. It was never the whole story.

The same song can feel easy one day and heavier the next 💕

That does not mean progress has disappeared. The voice is part of the body, so sleep, hydration, stress, illness, growth and how much someone has spoken can all make a difference.

Good practice is not forcing yesterday's voice to appear. It is noticing what the voice needs today and adjusting the plan 🎖️

That awareness is a singing skill in its own right.

Practice does not have to mean singing for an hour 👩‍🎤

Five focused minutes can be enough: one gentle warm-up, one tricky line, one breath point — then stop 🚫

Short practice is easier to repeat, and repetition is what helps new skills settle.

The goal is not to leave every practice tired. It is to leave knowing one small thing felt clearer 💕
