🏐🔥 A fantastic evening of netball at the English Institute of Sport!

Our Wath Academy Scholars were delighted to take to the court alongside a mixed squad of Year 9, 10 and 11 players for an incredible evening of competition.

The girls had the fantastic opportunity to play against Aspire, a South African international netball team 🇿🇦 as well as Wales High School, producing some brilliant netball throughout the evening.

There were some fantastic wins against Wales and some really close, competitive games against the South African side, with our players showing incredible determination, resilience, teamwork and a real hunger to compete. 💪🏐

A brilliant tournament to start the academic year and a fantastic experience for all involved. Well done to all our netballers involved 👏💙

⭐️ Y8 Residential ⭐️

That’s a wrap on an amazing three days with Year 8!

Our residential visit concluded with an awards ceremony, where students were recognised for a whole host of fantastic traits, including:

👉 Best Team Player
👉 Kindness Champion
👉 Chattiest Camper
👉 Lost Property Legend
👉 Fashion Icon

Taking over 200 students on a residential visit is no easy task, but seeing them return to school with so many stories to share and positive memories to treasure makes it all worthwhile.

Well done, Y8! You have been exceptional! ❤️

Students are all packed up and ready to return back to school. We had to squeeze two more activities in this morning first though.

It has been such a lovely two days. We can’t wait to visit again with next years Y8!

⭐️ Y8 RESIDENTIAL! ⭐️

Day two has proven to be another fabulous day with Year 8.

Students have demonstrated a real growth mindset and plenty of determination as they have overcome challenges and embraced what, for many, have been a number of new experiences.

Tonight, students have the choice of either a campfire 🔥 or a not so silent disco as their evening activity! 🕺💃🎶

⭐️Year 8 Residential ⭐️

This is an exciting few days for our Year 8 students with over 200 of them currently on their PGL residential.

Students have arrived safely and have thrown themselves straight into this afternoon’s activities, showing real resilience, bravery and maturity.

We look forward to hearing all about their experiences over the next two days!

🌟 A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO OUR STUDENTS 🌟

We’d like to extend a special thank you to our fabulous students who supported us at last night’s Open Evening.

From Lily-Mae’s performance and Jenny’s speech, to our amazing tour guides and the abundance of student helpers supporting departments, they truly exemplified what it means to be a Wath Academy student.

A key part of our curriculum intent is for all students to become responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to their community. Last night demonstrated this beautifully, and we feel incredibly grateful and proud of the respectful young people who make up our student body.

All of our helpers will be receiving a reward for their efforts in the weeks to come. 🎉

Thank you for representing Wath Academy so brilliantly! 💙
