Today we have been looking at the British Value of democracy and have voted in the UK Youth parliament elections, along with 21,000 students across Rotherham.
Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs) represent the views of their peers. It provides opportunities for young people to bring about social change through meaningful representation and campaigning and we are excited to be a part of it.

Today, our Year 12 and Year 13 Health and Social Care students took part in an insightful talk from Visiting Angels, a company specialising in home care.
Students learned about careers in the care sector, including the key skills needed to succeed in this rewarding field. They also enjoyed taking part in interactive activities and had the opportunity to ask questions, helping to support both their current studies and future career aspirations.

Today is Day, a national celebration recognising the vital role technicians play in schools and colleges across the UK.
Behind every successful practical lesson, experiment, or creative project is a technician working in the background to make it all happen. From preparing equipment and maintaining resources to ensuring lessons run safely and smoothly, their expertise and dedication are invaluable to both staff and students.
Today we would like to say a huge thank you to all of our technicians who support the Academy every day. Enjoy your sweet treats!
We appreciate everything you do.

Year 11 students have been working extremely hard over the last few weeks, not only giving 100% in their recent trials, but also engaging with our wider interventions and initiatives.
From Pringles for Progress to our Calculator Challenge, past paper initiatives, tutor interventions, Grade Boosters, period 0s and period 6s…we are incredibly proud of their hard work and resilience.

On Tuesday, a group of our Year 10 students visited Crowden Activity Centre in the beautiful Peak District. 🏞️
They took part in an exciting day of outdoor challenges, including ‘weasling’ through rocky tunnels, where they showed real resilience and determination when faced with tricky obstacles.
They tested their focus and precision in archery competitions before heading into the hills for orienteering challenges that encouraged teamwork, communication and problem-solving. 🧭
We are incredibly proud of how the group supported each other and embraced every challenge throughout the day. Well done, Year 10! 👏
