In our recent parent survey , 100% of Gurukula parents agreed that their child likes Gurukula. Here are a few of their comments:
'As a Vaishnava faith school, it nurtures the children's values and spiritual growth alongside their academic learning, which I really appreciate. I also like that the children are given opportunities to learn and try different things, broadening their horizons beyond the core subjects and helping them discover new interests.' Year 3 parent.
'•Gurukula is a really special school because of its unique and nurturing environment. All the teachers are incredibly caring and supportive, making the school truly feel like a home away from home.' Year 5 parent
'My child genuinely loves going to school every day, which says so much about the warmth and positivity he experiences there. The school has a strong focus on morals, values, kindness and love, which are so important in the early years. I feel confident that the strong foundation being built here will stay with my child throughout his life and help shape him into a kind, respectful and compassionate person.' parent of year 1 child
' I like the nurturing and personalised care each child receives, each child feels free to be themselves and accepted as they are.' Year 6 parent.
'• It’s really devotional, warm and I don’t know how, but you managed to combine Academic education + Vedic philosophy- it’s impossible to evaluate 💝' year 6 parent

The Gurukula teachers enjoyed an inspiring professional development session this afternoon with Her Grace Aruddha Devi Dasi.
As part of our ongoing staff training, Aruddha Devi Dasi shared practical approaches to studying the Srimad Bhagavatam*with children, demonstrating how its rich narratives can be used to develop literacy, comprehension, critical thinking, and higher-order reasoning skills.
Teachers also explored the Srimad Bhagavatam: A Comprehensive Guide for Young Learners series and discussed how these resources could further enrich our śāstra curriculum, helping pupils engage deeply with sacred texts while developing key academic skills.
We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from such an experienced educator and look forward to implementing these valuable ideas in our classrooms.

We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of poetry recitation in our Gurukula Poetry by Heart competition today from pupils in Baladeva and Vrindavan Classes. The children demonstrated excellent memorisation, clear articulation, and expressive delivery, making it a very difficult task for the judges to select winners.
The confidence and expressive performance skills on display were inspiring. Mother Kishori Vallabha also noted the significant growth in confidence among many pupils since joining Gurukula.

This morning, we were delighted to welcome Mother Visakha, a disciple of Srila Prabhupada and Temple President of Bhaktivedanta Manor. She visited the children to read from and speak about her new book in the 'Bhagavad Gita for Children' series, titled 'Feelings'.
The session gave the children a wonderful opportunity to explore emotions and their place within the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita in a thoughtful and age-appropriate way. The children were deeply engaged and asked many meaningful questions.
Some of their reflections included:
“Hearing from Mother Visakha helped me to understand the book better,”
“I had many questions and Mother Visakha answered them very patiently,”
“It was interesting because nobody ever talks about feelings from the Bhagavad Gita,”
It was a truly inspiring visit, and the children especially appreciated the chance to connect spiritual wisdom with their own everyday feelings and experiences.
