Our Year 6 students were invited to the House of Lords by Lord Raval of Hertsmere OBE. They had a wonderful time and found the visit really interesting. Here is a letter I received from Lord Raval.

"The Gurukula children who visited me in Parliament, and their parents, should know they were a credit to their families, their school and their faith. They asked searching questions, and when I invited them to chant in committee, they answered readily, the Mahamantra rising in call and response - my team and I were enchanted.

Some of us have waited until our late forties to be heard in Parliament. Gurukula’s Year 6, at just 11, made history: the first children of that age, in a thousand years of parliamentary tradition, to chant the Mahamantra in an official committee room.

When I asked how many wanted to be Prime Minister one day, several hands shot up. Every one of them is a leader already - I watch their unlimited futures with immense anticipation."

The Gurukula Student Council requested a special Wellbeing Day, and yesterday it came beautifully to life.

Here are a few photos from the event 🌿

The children shared how peaceful and refreshed they felt as they took part in activities such as kirtan drumming, origami, healthy cooking, pranayama and yoga, gentle massage, aromatherapy, and calming sound baths. The day created space for them to slow down, reconnect, and nurture both body and mind in a supportive and joyful atmosphere.

A wonderful reminder of the importance of caring for wellbeing in a holistic way within our Gurukula community. 🌸🙏

📚✨ Teachers’ Sanga 2026 ✨📚

On 12 June, Gurukula – The Hare Krishna Primary School hosted its annual Teachers’ Sanga, bringing together Gurukula staff, devotee teachers from local schools and colleagues from the Avanti Schools Trust to explore how Vaishnava teachings can enrich modern education.

This year's guest speaker, Bhuta Bhavana Das, shared insights on *Understanding Our Nature and Helping Children Understand Their Nature Through Vedic Teachings*. He emphasised the importance of unconditional care in the teacher–student relationship and how helping children understand their nature can nurture confidence, character and inner harmony.

The session sparked thoughtful discussion and an engaging Q&A, leaving participants inspired and eager for a follow-up session.

We are grateful to Bhuta Bhavana Das and all who attended, helping to strengthen our shared commitment to Krishna conscious education and the holistic development of every child. 🙏

In our recent parent survey , 100% of Gurukula parents agreed that their child likes Gurukula. Here are a few of their comments:
'As a Vaishnava faith school, it nurtures the children's values and spiritual growth alongside their academic learning, which I really appreciate. I also like that the children are given opportunities to learn and try different things, broadening their horizons beyond the core subjects and helping them discover new interests.' Year 3 parent.

'•Gurukula is a really special school because of its unique and nurturing environment. All the teachers are incredibly caring and supportive, making the school truly feel like a home away from home.' Year 5 parent

'My child genuinely loves going to school every day, which says so much about the warmth and positivity he experiences there. The school has a strong focus on morals, values, kindness and love, which are so important in the early years. I feel confident that the strong foundation being built here will stay with my child throughout his life and help shape him into a kind, respectful and compassionate person.' parent of year 1 child

' I like the nurturing and personalised care each child receives, each child feels free to be themselves and accepted as they are.' Year 6 parent.

'• It’s really devotional, warm and I don’t know how, but you managed to combine Academic education + Vedic philosophy- it’s impossible to evaluate 💝' year 6 parent
