Guitar Lessons: Each student learns on either a Yamaha electric guitar or Yamaha electric keyboard in our fantastic teaching studio designed for the best p

ossible learning experience. We teach the highly acclaimed Yamaha Guitar Encounters Graded Course & "Play for Keeps" Keyboard course (accredited by Trinity College of Music), so Whilst learning great rock & pop on guitar your child is also getting a great musical education covering music theory (inc Notation/Rhythm/TAB) and can take grades (some which count for UCAS points). Singing Lessons: great lessons covering the rock/pop/glee repertoire also teaching vocal techniques, vocal exercises and performance, we use a PA system and a mic per student. It is great fun and they can make friends along the way. Places are limited to a maximum group of 8. There is nothing else like this in this area. 100% of our pupils passed their exam this year with 72% getting a Merit or Distinction.

This is what 15 years of Music Gym looks like.

Every pupil who sat an RSL(Rockschool) or Yamaha exam this year passed. Nearly three quarters achieved Merit or Distinction. 14 scored 90% or higher for a Distinction.

Karim and Ianis just passed their Grade 3 Drums with Merits 🥁
3 years ago they were learning how to hold a stick. Now they're controlling four limbs independently in a single beat — that's genuinely hard, and they've earned every bit of this.
Sam has worked with them both from the very beginning and couldn't be prouder. Neither could we.

Music Gym runs a weekly MAT preparation course every Monday 4–5pm at the Meriden Centre, Watford — covering Pitch, Melody, Texture and Rhythm with mock tests and targeted practice.
We have both past and present pupils in all seven SW Herts Consortium schools.

15th Anniversary Prize Raffle Winner!
Max performed at our 15th Anniversary Concert. A few days later, his grandmother’s raffle ticket came up — and he walked away with a brand new Yamaha Pacifica electric guitar.

His dad said it best:

“Big congratulations to Music Gym on their anniversary and thank you for the dedication with the kids. The amount Max has learnt with you is immense and he’s already looking forward to the next performance opportunity on stage. Max loves the guitar!
